Default You'll wantto read thiss..

okay, so i enlisted in the army national guard. i leave for basic training for this summer, after im done ill have about 12,000 dollars chillin in the bank.

so i plan on dumping most of it into the tC

tell me what you think.

turbonetics kit
xtr tC turbo pistons (so i can up the boost)
Carillo tC forged rods (to match up with the pistons)
ARP tC head studs (extra support)
Clutch masters stage III clutch (to handle the massive amounts of power)
Fidanza tC flywheel

how much boost do you think i could go to without blowing the motor?
so i think with all that ill up the boost to maybe 13psi?
hopefully around 350whp..???
also, any suggestions on different things to do are always welcome

either all that, or a 2008 yamaha r6 which is much faster but much more unsafe.

I'm worried more about the crank.

Upgraded internals will certainly help with increasing boost, but I think you should ask around for people who have worked with 13psi + applications, and see what a safe margin of error is.

The tC just isn't meant to be modded like other vehicles out there.

wow you got big plans! Soulbane's idea of getting with someone with experience with that much boost is crucial IMO. shouldn't you consider the brakes and tires to? gotta have stopping power too!

BREMBO calipers will cost you closer to 2k, not 1k.

You can try to find other performance 4 piston calipers.

But Stainless Steel lines, Slotted rotors, and performance brake pads should do the trick for now. It should be more than sufficient actually.

Performance brakes are more aimed towards aggressive and sudden stops for cornering and maneuvering, not gradually slowing down from top end speeds.

Well, then you're all go.

Get those nice forged internals, Engine Management, and BOOST away!!!!

Don't forget the brakes.

The simple Slotted rotors, stainless lines, and perfomance pads will go a long way, trust me.

stock crank will never be an issue for you. The nitto tC hit 700 or whatever on the stock crank. And there are plenty running 500 on daily basis with stock crank.
I will pick a different turbo kit if you are looking to push the envelope and build the engine. The turbonetics kit is highly limited in what it can do. Check out turbotoyotas, dezod and one of the other choices out there.

As far as big brake kits. The brembo kit is around $2500. You can get a stoptech kit for around $1000 I believe, i forget what they quoted me. nurspec is running a good deal on them.

You could, but why buy a kit, to just have to go spend another $1000 on a new turbo?
There are kits out there that let you choose what turbo you want to come with it from purchase. Plus the turbonetics kit is tuned with a unichip. I wouldnt reccomend that unless you have a shop close by that can tune unichip.

If you get a piggyback system, the Ultimate and the AEM FIC are much better than unichip.

so educate me (bear with me tho cuz i may not understand some or all of the parts im about to mention)...

do all turbos come pre-tuned?

turbo kits aren't specific to their brand? (i mean all the parts being the same brand) you can mix and match?

if turbonetics is tuned with unichip, you can get a piggyback system and use that in addition to (or in place of) the unichip?

sorry if none of these questions make sense
