Hey I curently have a Kenwood DDX512 installed and I want to install a
pioneer d3.... I want to install it myself i know how to remove the kenwood deck but my question is when i remove it is the wiring going to be the same when i get the pioneer? like will i just need to plug it in without touching any of the wiring |

pull the kenwood out it should have a wiring harness on it you should see were they tied are crimped the wires together just cut the wires and wire them to the new deck the wires should be the same color its really easy.

I have the D1 in my car, and at first i was gonna install it myslef, but once i dug into it more i realized it was a bit more complicated than an ordinary head unit install. it has to be wired to your parking brake as well as your speed sensor and a few other things. I decided to just pay to have it installed, and im glad i did. You should be able to find a reputable audio shop in your area that will istall it for less than 100 bucks... its worth it.
i went to a place called Sound Advice, and it cost me 90 bucks for the install... then the rest of my system i installed myself.

when you took it off just connect it back the way you found it with the new indash and you should be fine and do it slowly one wire at a time but if your not sure then i agree with Ahriman just take it to the shop and let them do it but remember something they learned by doing it on somebodys car so you can do it to
