Sponsorships???
anyone here have a sponsorship or know someone who is sponsored? major or minor? how does it really work and what kind of committment is involved? i know the companies will tell you all the glamourous things but may leave out the downsides. is it worth it?

I was offered a sponsorship by glowshift, but I declined. Go to Get your car sponsored by Car Sponsorships and build your dream car and fill out an application. They got back to me within a week via email. As for the reasons why I didnt take the sponsorship...
1. Glowshift products BLOW 2. I have to have a Sticker on my car for 1 1/2 years. 3. I never own the product 4. I would have to go to big shows like HIN and hand out tons of brochures and crap. 5. ON second thought I really dont want to be sponsored because I want to do it myself. But good luck TBITB on getting one. And there are also other sites that can sponsor you as well.

yea i wasnt really considering getting one, i just see the ad for carsponsorships.com now and then and i just wanted to get opinions on it.
your reasons for not taking it are valid ones and probably why i wouldn't do it (unless a representative from DEZOD turbos or FIVE AXIS is reading this - then i'm just joking and those reasons dont really bother me    )

I did the carsponsorship. Im in iraq right now otherwise i would still be doing it. you pretty much have to pick and choose your battles with that though. also think of you car as a poster board for other companies. the more meets and shows you go to the more likely they will be inclined to give you a sponsorship!

A friend of mines is under a sponsorship, its not a full sponsorship so the company paid for half and he had to paid for the other half of the stuff on his car. They told him to put a wide body kit on his eclispe with the lambo doors. He also put a full sound system with tv's. So that kinda sucked for him having 2 pay for half but his car looks nice with everything

im with you TBITB id rather just do what i wanted to my car and sponser myself in a way. i like to work for what i get. im only 18 just bought my own car. pay for my own insurance and everything. i feel refreshed when i get to the goal ive sent and finally click the order confirmation button.
