i want to backhand the guy that sold me my tc

hey, sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i am new to this forum, and car forums in general. I bought a tc month ago and after the idiot who sold it to me forgot to get the leins release, i had to wait until now to start driving it. On top of this there are many new scratches to the exterior that were not there when i first agreed to buy it, and the retard says he lost the manual. how do you lose something like that? Anyway, most importantly the engine sounds like it could use some minor tuning. whenever i hit the gas, it makes a whistling/squeaking sound, dont really know how to describe it. it definitely does not sound natural. however, once i really push on the throttle, it stops. so its basically a problem when i need light acceleration. does anybody know what this could mean? it doesn't sound serious, and i really dont feel like taking it to a shop and getting nickle and dimed. let me know, thanks

ya theres something wrong with the tC man you could take a look around the engine and see if any of the sensors are still working correctly but chances are that you need to take the tC to a shop and have them check it out

the scratches might come out with some good wax and elbow grease lol

for the manual you can get it at the dealership or pep boys

That whistling under light acceleration is normal. Its just the air traveling through the intake tube. Don't worry about that.

If there were new scratches AFTER you came back to buy it, why did you go through with the deal?

If it is more like an electronic squeal it is from the drive by wire throttle, also nothing to worry about.

sorry to hear bout ur bad experience. when it comes to squeaks and squeals that aren't normal, better safe than sorry. take it to toyota. but what ur hearing does sound normal. and go with meguiars paint cleaner, polish, and wax - take ur time with it! good luck!

so if i get a CAI (thinking injen), would this most likely stop/alleviate the squealing? I was planning on doing this anyway. and as far as going through with the deal, i had already transferred the title before i came back to pick it up, which i know now was a stupid thing to do. but at the time i felt like there was no reason to drive the car back to my house when i had no insurance on it, and i figured it would only take a couple days to clear up the problem. lesson learned!

A CAI will give you more of a whistling noise, I like the noise it makes, your engine will have a deeper tone to it and you will hear the whistle of the air going through the filter.

yea the whislting is what the intake does. if you're that weary about it tho, and you just don't feel right, take it to toyota. they may drive it around the block, tell u it's fine, and let u go on ur way. or, somethin might actually be wrong...
