Default Scion tC Exhausts

Ive serched through many forums getting info on the various scion tC exhausts and have narrowed it down to the Megan Racing exhaust or the TRD exhaust. Both sound really good and looking to you to see which one you would choose. btw i chose these for their deep sound, that they are not too loud and they last a long time (meaning they wont rust). if anyone has any other exhaust suggestions please post a sound clip/vid with its name. Thanks

Out of those two I'd have to go with the Megan. It's a full catback and 2.5". They also have a new version out that looks just like the stock setup.

Check out the Greddy Evo2 axleback. Looks nice, is deep, and quiet. My Cold air intake drowned out the exhaust noise at WOT. I got a vid clip on myspace...so iono how you wanna watch that. but just look for scion tc and fly-by. lol

If you are staying stock, ie no plans to add a aftermarket header, then the TRD is by far the best sounding option out on the market. I was very impressed and just loved the rich, throaty tone that was not too loud or buzzing. Change out to a no CAT header (DC Sports) and it is louder than a swarm of killer bees. It is raspy at times and it overly loud.

I found site, DC header with the an ARK exhaust sound clip. They have installation pictures that shown DC header. I'm sure that is DC.

That N2 sounds sweet. I don't care for the DTS sound. Too close to what my TRD sounds with the DC header. Nice setup but don't care for the cut and splice install after the secondary cat. Does not show an aftermaket S-pipe. Their dyno must either be weighted differently or off alot cause the bone stock tC makes between 146-153WHP depending on dynos.

I'm thinking to get the OBX Racing Sports catback exhaust system for my 07' spec edition. 4.0" Muffler. Haven't heard how it sounds like on a tC, but I have heard it on other cars, which sounds pretty good. I also thought about the tsudo N1 catback. Sounds sweet also. I'll stick with OBX since I am trying to get the package for $200. What do you think?

I'm not reastrain your word. But think twice, paying $200.00 is good purchase, but paying twice makes an alternate option.

The best sounding axle-back exhaust on a OEM header has been the TRD. It is pricey, but looks sweet and has the best tone. It is low and grumbly with just the right loudness at WOT. It gives a fair amount HP+, not the best, but realistic. Change the OEM header to a catless and forget the TRD. Way too loud and raspy. I have heard one with a large resonator that cut it back a lil and kill the rasp.

I like how the trd sounds, but it looks stock, i want somethin that both looks good, sounds good, and gives power as well, in other words, the whole package, im goin with HKS, looks great, sounds great, and its made by HKS so it has to perform well!

i would say that the TRD looks anything like that stock black propane tank, but I get your point.

I agree that the TRD looks too much like stock. I work at a Scion dealership and honestly I don't like them at all. I have a Tsudo N1 Catback that is awesome. It has 2.5" piping all the way back and a 4.5" tip. Look sweet and sounds awesome. Plus there seems to be a decent amount of horsepower gain. Plus I think that the cost of the TRD just isn't worth it. You pay too much for what you get in return!
