    Default Sad but happy story

So i havent been on here for a while and i wanted to let everyone in on some news... i have gotten a couple things done to the tC which is awesome lol but about 3weeks ago we had a bad rain storm here in orlando and it rained pretty bad, My landlord calls me for me to go help her out because her car died and i cant leave her out in the rain with her kid in the car so i go out to help to see if i can. I get to her ok but every street was flodded real bad, Then i jumped her car it turned on and that was cool. so the rain started to let out i was like this is good. Where i live theres speed bumps, After dodging a couple flooded streets i get to this one that looks fine after i go over the speed bump water was up to my sideskirt as i notice this quarter way in the strreet i backed up and as i backed up i stalled and car died i was so sad i had to get out and push it and after pushing it out the water since i never heard of hydro lock i crank my engine like 3times which ended me having a hydro lock which flippin sucks broke a rod. It has been 3 weeks and toyota is almost done with it because statefarm is covering some what of it. Reason why toke for ever was they got a new used engine and as they were testing it 3 rods failed doesnt that suck huh then now they got me another engine hopefully this one works and i can get my car back i miss her so much... heres the good news statefarm and toyota dont want my old broken engine so i get to keep it and fix it and sell it =) yup im thinking of going supercharger was thinking boost as well but you know how the family gets "your gonna kill yourself blah blah" but a supercharger is great if they ask what is it, its a strut bar for the motor lol but if i do it, it will be awesome i right now im wanting to get a 9.5lb but really would like to have a 12lb pulley and i have seen the NST kits for the crank pulley but anyone can help a brotha out(caugh caugh navy) dont know to much of the supercharger set up so give me some info anything would help...

If your a manual, your 2006 will take the less expensive $1850 S/C kit. Install at dealer can be from $300~600. S/C Pulley will be from $100~125 with a LW crank pully (not required) being about the same. A good 2.5" exhaust will be needed at more than stock (7PSI) boost levels. You will also need a piggyback controller for anything over 10PSI.

Sucks about your situation. One bright spot is that you can get those HP parts easy; they are better quality and stronger parts. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge. Say no more, say no more.

Never heard of hydrolock being so severe as to break a rod. I can understand where it is possible (in a weaker engine) that such large ingestion of water can wash the oil from the cylinders and cause cylinder pressures to increase. I am not sure what the compressibilty ration of water to gasoline is. As for all of the discussions on Hydro-locking, it was caused by completely submerging your intake under water and not from splashing thru rain puddles.
