Security Light Identicator blinking

I bought my 2007 Scion Tc about 2 weeks ago. I have a security light identicator that blinks regardless if I drive or if the car is parked and off. The alarm does not go off when I open the door once I lock the car with the remote. I have the gray looking key.. Idk if that makes a difference. Anyone has any insights?

did you install an alarm or did it come with an actual alarm, not just the keyless entry system

Is it going off while you're driving? Are you saying that you locked the doors while you were inside it and opened the doors? Need some more specifics...

Need more info. Does your light blink steadily or with a pause? According to the manual, this is the only condition that would change the security light flashing sequence. All other issues should throw a MIL code.

• If the key code registration has failed in
automatic key code registration mode, code 2-1
will be output from the security indicator light.
Trying to reregister an already registered key will
cause code 2-2 to be output when the key is
inserted. If the number of registered key codes
exceeds the limit, code 2-3 will be output from
the security indicator light. The output details are
