    Exclamation Top End Speeds?????

Hi I am a new owner of a TC. Still have not received mine yet, I currently own a 1995 Impala SS 290+hp. I was wondering how the top end speen is with the TC? Im talking about when you are going 70 then punch it! I know its not gona be anything like my v8 going from 70-100 in a flash. But how is the passing speed on the freeway with these cars???

    Thanks

    Henry

The TC has a good and bad side to it when it comes to passing people on the freeway. Usually when you're doing about 70 your rpm's are about 3.5k to 4k, because of this accellerating is an easy task due to the high rpm's. The bad about the TC is that it uses a "drive-by-wire" system. Instead of a throttle cable it uses an electronic system which has a slight half second delay. I personally have never had much of a problem passing anyone though.

Some people on ScionLife have gotten rid of the delay by adding some rubber pads under part of the accelerator... I haven't tried it yet.

well it still utilizeses a throttle cable, jsut not directly.
tighten the cable, for a quicker response. ive done that on my car and it does help lots.

This topic might be too old but I have no problem from 70 - 110 in like 4 seconds or so.. I wasn't timming it but it feels that way.
