Question Found an in-dash dvd player...

Ok, so i went to check out some new decks for the Tc.. and i found a KENWOOD eXcelon DDX 8017.

I was told that this is one of the best In-dash cd/dvd you can get right now for the money.. ( $1,600 )

Anyways, i was wondering if anyone has good/bad comments about this deck! It looks pretty amazing...

    Here's the specs

? 6.5 inch Wide color TFT Active Matrix Display
    ? Motorized Slide-down Front Panel
? Interactive Touchscreen Control with GUI
? Audio Easy Control Mode while Playing Visual Source
? Selectable Wall Paper (5 Patterns)
    ? Installer/Backup Memory of Audio/Video Setup
    ? Maximum Output Power : 50W x 4 (MOSFET Power IC)
    ? Gold Plated 5.1ch Preouts with 5V Pre-output Level (Front/ Rear/ Center/ Subwoofer)
? 2 RCA AV Inputs / 1 RCA AV Output
? Video Input for Rear View Camera
? RGB Input for Navigation System
? Dolby Pro Logic II / dts surround
? SRS WOW / Circle Surround Automotive
? 4 Band Parametric EQ/ Digital X'over/ Listening Position Control

? DVD Menu Direct Touchscreen Control
? MPEG 1/2 Video files (.mpg) and JPEG files (.jpg) Playback
? Dual Zone Source & Volume Control
    ? DVD?R/RW Compatible
? External Media Control ? iPod Ready
    ? Optional TV Tuner (KTC-V500N)
? Optional Center Speaker Unit (KSC-510CTR)

Also, i'm looking into replacing the front and rear speakers and subs with JL audio. What do you think?

the thing i like about the Kenwood is that it fits behind the stereo door.. you dont have to take it off to make the deck fit. Its not a pop up screen like the pioneer.

I know Kenwood use to be kinda crappy but i hear they're better now... but thats exactly why i'm posting this.. so i can get some feedback.

There are several companies that make a double-din stereo. Both Pioneer and Eclipse makes one. I have used both and prefer the Pioneer one. I should have pictures of my Pioneer AVIC-D1 in a couple weeks.

    Default stick with the Pioneer

I agree, stick with Pioneer. They have a AVIC-Z1 and a AVIC-D2 that fit in the double DIN and don't pop up.

kenwood makes some ok stuff. i have a jensen in my truck and love it! for a cheap deck it is awesome! more then i could have asked for. in the tC i will be switching to a pioneer however. the jensens' double dins with navi are too expensive.
