I got my third free maintenance done today. 2008s are only supposed to get two but I got three cos I rock. At any rate, the dude tried to hustle me and said something about needing alignment and this that and the other. I told him to shut up and send my car in the wash bay. So I got free extra maintenance, a moron telling me my alignment is out of whack when I touched the inside of the wheel and it was fine so I got to show him up, and a free car wash. I was feeling pretty groovy by this point. I gave idiot mcgoo my keys and moseyed on to the waiting room where I was finishing up my paper cos I'm a slacker college student who was too busy looking up car parts that I don't yet have money for. I digress. Sorry. After I finished my paper, I was still really bored and didn't feel like watching the news and had no means of entertainment since their wi-fi was messed up and my ipod was in the car and all of my friends were asleep so I moseyed of to the new Scion showroom. I am utterly obsessed with Ptuning.com - Performance Auto Parts Warehouse, Installation, and Dyno Tuning Services and have been lusting after the P-Tuning S-Back exhaust (Ptuning.com - Item Description) ... It is simply AMAZING. If you are familiar with P-Tuning, you know what a gorgeous piece this is If not, check them out on youtube.com. Again, I digress. Well, lo and behold, in this dealer's showroom, there was a white 09 tC for sale with that very exhaust mounted on it and it was sitting on Progress lowering springs. Let me tell you, that car was stunning. I went down on the dirty showroom floor and just drooled at the exhaust and how it sat on the undercarriage of the car. It was a beauty. I literally had to wipe my mouth from drooling so much. The Scion manager of the dealership came up to me and then handed me the key, with a smirk on his face, and said, "If you're drooling when she's not on, wait til you hear her in person. Go on, fire her up." So I did. It was amazing. To make it even better, he asked what I'm doing and then told me to hop in the driver seat and take her for a test drive. It was the single best 45 minutes of my life. I think it was even better than ... well, I won't go there. But it was amazing. That baby is so quick and so loud and so sexy. That is the exhaust that I want, screw TRD, Magnaflow and all the others. That one had the exact sound I was looking for. Sadly, I don't have anywhere NEAR 5 for that exhaust. It was a great experience though! And the Progress springs look stellar. Sorry for this long winded, absolutely irrelevant post but it just made me so happy

I was in Woodbridge at Lustine Scion, Toyota, Dodge. I was gonna text you but I'm studying right now. I heard they rebuilt the original white one after it got wrecked and it weighs 2,300 pounds right now cos EVERYTHING pretty much is CF. I saw it in a magazine article too ... I think the white one that PTuning owns is actually at one of their shops to be honest. This was just a tC they built to sell.

Yeah I was just ranting after a while. I was gonna go back and edit buuuuuut then I got lazy. The jist of it was that I drove a tC with the $700 exhaust I am obsessed with and got free stuff from the dealer that tried to screw me over.

Sweet exhaust. 3" is a bit much for N/A so there goes your low RPM torque. Was this on the stock header? Your last post makes it sound like a tuner car as opposed to a Dealer demo car.

quiet a few dealerships now are actually trying to make tuner demos to show off and appeal to the younger crowd. i even saw an episode of pimp my ride where the paid for some ugly hatchback to get decked out look good too.

Um. I'm not sure to be honest. It was in the showroom and there was a typed up piece of paper that said what was on it but I already knew they had the PTuning exhaust on it. It's not the first time that stealership has actually done that though. I managed to find the link to the actual car on their lot. I'm pretty sure it was on the stock header since the link didn't say anything about headers under the added options.

That is pretty cool that they are doing this as the Dealership will freely provide warranty service on this setup. Dealerships used to do this back in the Muscle Car days when "Dealership Installed" items made you car more unique. This was due to the fact that Dealerships were not controlled by the factory on what they could put on the car.

This car definitely has the OEM header as it states 50 State Emissions legal. The P-Tuning exhaust was designed for F/I so an N/A would not be advisable. N/A needs backpressure to keep the exhaust velocity up for low to mid range torque.

I thought it was amazing. I have no idea if it voids warranty or any of that mess but I would assume not. I honestly was half tempted to work something out with them though.

I am obsessed with that exhaust but I kinda had a feeling more work had to be done.

If the Dealer installs their own parts outside of the Scion approved line, then the Dealer will be responsible to warranty that item. This would also include any factory related items.

Ah I see. Well that's good then. That dealer gave the tC to PTuning. Well, they sold it to them for $1. What a bargain!
