Default How much should I pay???

I want to go test drive some tc's this weekend and I've been looking around for a good deal. Im looking for a 2005 black 5 spd TC for under 10 grand out the door. I don't mind 50,60,or 70k because lets face it, its a toyota. Does this seem reasonable?

What do you guys think I should be paying for a good used TC?

There's not as many listings in my area as I was hoping their would be. I absolutely have to have a manual, and black is a must (i'd consider white if the deal was too good to pass up).

    Thanks

I paid 16k for mine out the door but its an 08 and I bought if from carmax with only 17k miles on it. My advice to you would be before you by that deal make double sure you check the engine out, the 2AZFE is an awsome torquey beast, but if its been mistreated it breaks like all the rest.

Very good advice. Some of these poor tC's have been put through the ringer. I can tell just by looking at the rear quarter panels if the car has been cornered hard. A good look over is always in your best interests. I would think that your gonna pay for any tC over 10K used in good condition. They are highly desirable cars and the market was not flooded with them.

When I bought my 2006 Scion tC (Azure Pearl) back in 2007, I paid about $16,000 plus tax/title/tags. The mileage on mine was 11,300. Any tC you find with 50,000 miles +/- you'll be looking at or around $11,000 to $15,000 at best, over that I would talk down the price if you can. Some dealers very seldomly budge on the price with Scion's/Toyotas cause of the reliabilty and higher resale. Anytime you buy a used car/truck/SUV, always get a CarFax Report and look the whole vehicle over for any abuse/mistreatment. You can even take the vehicle to a reputable mechanic for a complete look over before signing the deal. FYI: GET A WARRANTY. (CYOA) Cover Your Own A**

I wish you lots of luck finding a Scion tC for $10,000 or less. If you do its going to be a fixer or has been damaged or worse in a flood. You may find a Scion tC for that price, but be forwarned, your looking at some very high mileage. Scion/Toyota/Lexus has a very well known reputation for being expensive but makes some very reliable vehicles, so sorry to say and no offense, you going to have to pay a little more for lower mileage. No matter what, you have a great reliable vehicle that should last and then some as long as its maintained properly. If it was me and my personal opinion, Id look into a RS Edition Scion tC. Good Luck to you! :-)
