    Default Acid Rain/Rust/Underbody Treatments

Hi all, new to the forum here. I just got a '07 tC, and overall, I'm pretty satisfied with it. I have a question though, did any of the dealerships offer to do treatments for the bodywork to prevent damages caused by acid rain, rust, and corrosion for the underbody? Did any of you do it for your tC's? The salesperson said that if I'd done the acid rain treatment, I won't need to wax my car for 7 years at least. I figured its only to increase the value of the car when I sell/trade in. I figured I'd drive this car till it breaks down maybe 20 years from now. Just want to know if its actually worth it. Thanks.

I wasn't offered that at my dealership. Sounds like they are trying to sell you perma-plate.

I figured since its essentially a toyota, and I had a toyota before, and its been 10 years, and the body works still looks great, so I didn't think it was neccessary to get those done.

it will be good for couple of years but it will still rust form inside. It will depend on where u live. I live in montreal for a while and all rust proofing has to be done every year. What they do it they spray rust proofing spray every where. Like in side doors body pannels etc. wat dealer offer will only protect the paint as far as i know. brakes will rust suspension parts will rust all tubing will rust eventually. how long it will take will depends on where you live, but i hardly dout it will last 20 years. just save the money and get real rust proofing and wax and polish your car time to time.
