Scion xtC Mystic Release Series 3.5?

Hi, I bought a Scion this Tuesday from a used car dealership with only 30,000 miles on it. It is labeled on the title as an xtC and has a Mystic Motorsport badge on the outside. On the inside it says Mystic Release Series 3.5. I have searched all over the internet on anything for it and have come up with no information on whats so special about it, what was done to it, or anything. The only thing I do know is from what I can visually see. It has a carbon fiber hood, the engine looks stock, and it might be a short throw shifter (Not sure on this one because most other cars I have owned have had a much longer shift than the Scion).

I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out and tell me anything you might now about this. There were apparently on 20 of these made, and as a Scion tC community I was hoping you could help me out.

Where are you and can you show some pictures? I have NEVER heard of a rs 3.5. What color is the tc? Can you give us some of the features and more info about it? Scions, for some reason, have a shorter shifter than other cars to begin with. If you have any friends in your area, look inside their cars and see what you can spot that might be different. I can ask around but I honestly have never heard of that.

I will try to remember to bring my camera with me tomorrow when I leave. I live in NY. It is like a Dark Blue. I couldn't begin to tell you features because I bought it from a used dealership. As for the shifter, it is shorter than my 2001 Toyota MR2 that I got rid of for it. So based off that car, I would say the shifter is shorter. I think it features most of the features that the 3.0 offered. But I believe the headlamps are different. I will try to remember my camera tomorrow when I head outside to take some pictures of it to post on here.

Are there any plaques saying "#___ out of ____" on the car? If it is a limited release vehicle (like the RS's are), then it would have these all over the place. But I tried doing some research on the "xtC"s and couldn't find much. Only that some people put an "x" in front of the tC to make a play on the word "ecstasy" (which is pretty clever imho). ^_^

It almost sounds to me like it was a shop project, or a dealership sponsered project car that someone bought then didnt like?

Or someone just put an "x" badge on the car, creating their own "RS 3.5". More research would need to be done to find out if this is authentic or not. Perhaps contact a Scion dealership?

Well I asked my friends at PTuning and they definitely all said they have seen people just take an X off an xA or xB to be cute. There is no such thing as a RS 3.5. I talked to Scion reps and also PTuning. There was a white xtC with a tag of "<3 xtc" that always parked near me on campus (I go to George Mason in Fairfax, VA) so I think it's just a stupid badge people are putting on. I think there is also a Scion club along the lines of xtc? Don't quote me on that last part though.

I forgot to take the picture of the xtC but I should be able to get that tomorrow when I am out, it is one peace, it's not like they took the x from another car and put it on, it's all connected as one piece, but here are the pictures I got so far.

Well, the sheer lack of information on the Net about it makes me think it is not factory built. Could be a company (Mystic Motorsports), was taking RS3's and adding stuff to them, creating their own "RS3.5". In fact, that's what I would bet my money on.

Either way, nice ride and congrats. I was THIS close to buying those exact same headlights lol. If only I hadn't bought my hyperwhite halogens a week before.

That's really strange. It's not an RS3.0 The 3.0 came in Blizzard Pearl which is white. Plus it looks like there are a few other things missing. I'd say that this is someone's custom project and not endorsed in any way by Scion...

And on another note, keep an eye on your headlights. I have heard many stories about aftermarket headlights having the LED's burn out.

it's some shop that added stuff and made up the badging to lure in suckers who don't know better to spend alot more money than what the car is really worth

that's what you got.

and the car's color is a nautical blue. nothing special about that either.
