Default just wondering about the shifter on the mt

I'm interested in purchasing the tc within the next couple of weeks.
It seems like a good car all around.
the only question i have on it right now is its shifter.
It looks akwardly tall for a sport coupe.
compared to other cars like the rsx, celica, eclpise, etc, it's pretty darn tall.
To all the tc owners who have the mt, my questions are, are the throws pretty seperated, does it feel sporty at all, does it feel responsive? Any anwers would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Default Sporty? possibly....but it def needs a new clutch!

umm...its sporty for possibly a girls point of view...lol...i have a tC..n i hate how the clutch is...im getting a stage 2 racing clutch put in it because the stock one just seems really springey n dont catch right...it kinda pisses me off...i want something that will just catch right away...its gonna take some getting use to .....n if u dont like the height on the shifter...u can just get a short shifter kit...their only about $140...their sold everywhere...but i really dont recommend the TRD...i tend to think all their aftermarket parts r horrible!.....hope this was helpful

After 2 350z's and an RX-8 in the last 3 years (and too many more cars to even state), yes, the MT is high, but you get used to it very quickly. And compared to them, it is "quick" at best. But in the day of $3 gas, it's fun to drive, cut my insurance by $300/yr, and I get 28 mpg around town! Go drive one, I was quite surprised by it. Very, very smooth and quiet.

There are several low-priced but quality short shifters out there that lower the height of the shift knob. I also believe that because Scion was made to appeal to the youth market, they made the stick shift easy to learn and easy to drive, hence the soft clutch and smooth shifts.
