This is why you never ever go with that "special deal" from a friend or family. You get what you pay for and you paid to get ripped. In New York, I would have estimated your job to be over ,000. AFAIK, there is not a plethora of imitation OEM parts on the market. Not to say that there are none. It sounds like they took your bumper cover and just repainted it. They probably did not replace all of the mounting bracket and clips for the bumper cover and the lower clip bracket for your headlight. I bet they even "forgot" to replace the foam bumper insert that helps keep your front bumper cover's shape. This is all "standard" substandard work that goes on in a majority of bodyshops. I am way late on this but you shoud have gotten a second appraisal and shopped around for a competent bodyshop. The insurance company cannot tell you where to take it to or what kinda of parts to be installed. I know this all first hand, unfortunately.

the insurance company quoted 1500.. now i'm thinking about that buffing out my bumper too but there were cracks in it so i'm gonna look tomorrow to see if they seemed "fixed" but my foam in the bumper is taped on....
i took the car back to the shop to be fixed again yesterday. they said it'd only take an hour... 2 hours later i came to get my car cause i had to go to work and the fixit man said "yeah so we tightened your fenders... and your hood was up.. you gotta come back saturday to get your headlight fixed though it keeps popping outta place."
i should've just taken it to where my bf took his civic. the car came back new.

Repeat business is your best bet with your car, if you found a place you like, just stick to it. Its not worth all the time and effort you'll use in locating a different body shop. well that's what i have learned, i don't know if anyone has experienced anything else...
