Default noises

Hi, I recently bought a 2007 scion tc and it has roughly 1400 miles (after having it for only 15 days) and a cricket-y noise has developed and im pretty sure its something towards the dash. I've only noticed it the past few days. It only happens when I hit a bump. What scares me is that most of the noise complaints ive seen develop at mileage much more than what I have. Anyway I don't know if the dealer would be able to find it, and even if they could it would probably take awhile not to mention questionable warranty coverage. Is anyone aware of anything like this?

I have the same problem with my 2006 tc. The same noise started at about 2000 miles. I think it is coming from the trim around the radio, if I push on it the noise stops. I have taken it to the dealership twice and they can't duplicate the noise. It is going back in on Monday.

Cool fix

it is coming from the back side of the cover for the radio. it is rubbing on the inside of the slot that it goes in when it opens. mine was doing the same thing. it drove me crazy. i fixed it by putting two pieces of sticky velcro (loop side) on the back of the lid where it was rubbing (left and right side of the back of the lid). if you take the trim bezel off from around the radio you will be able to look at the back side of the lid and see where it is rubbing. it makes the lid a little harder to close, but the cricket will stop. later.
