New to the club... I have a 2006 TC and recently found a thin wire that looks a lot like the "blade" of a weed-eater hanging down between the sunroof and the cover. Took it to the dealer and they removed it, saying it was infact a weed-eater. Here's the weird thing though. There is no way a weed-eater cord could get up there as I barely ever open the sunroof. Also, I noticed since they removed the wire, I can open the sunroof with the cover closed. I could not do this before. I think the dealer is hosing me and they removed some kind of safety catch. Just curious if anyone else has had this kind of incident. Thanks for replies.
Note: I have heard that the 2006 tcs were not recalled for sunroof problems. As far as I know, this was only a model year 2005 problem. What was that sunroof problem anyway? Was it like this? Thanks again. |

i beleive it was for the deflector part of the sunroof shattering and falling on driver. short glass part that tilts up in front of the sunroof when u fully open the sunroof. ill try to see if i can open the sunroof with the shutter thing closed once it stops raining and let u know.

yeah same thing happened to me, it would retract when you try to close it.
I took it to the dealership and they said they had to reboot the cpu module for the sunroof. lol. i didnt even know the sunroof had a cpumodule. But it works perfectly fine now. |
