Default Cleaning Filter on TRD CAI

Hey everyone, I just got a the TRD CAI installed today and upon getting home I couldn't help but wonder " how the hell am I going to get to this filter when it comes times to clean it". In all honesty it looks like its going to be a *****. Any pointers on how to get to it would be very helpful. Also what would be a good amount of miles to drive on it before cleaning it . the guy at the dealership told me 5k but I would to see what you all on here would recommend. I appreciate your time and comments. Thanks.

I would clean it around every 15,000 miles. The basic procedure is to buy an intake cleaning kit, disconnect the battery, take the intake off, spray the cleaning agent, rinse it off, let it air dry, apply the lubricating oil, and reconnect the battery.

I know how to clean the filter. I have done it before on the short ram I had on my accord many times. I am just not sure how to get to the filter in order to take it off the CAI since it is in fender of the car pretty much.

Disconnect the battery, take apart the intake at the bypass valve, pull the elbow and the filter out of the fender, and clean it.

you won't be able to just disconnect it that easily.. the elbow of that intake is also mounted inside the fender too.. along with the fact that the filter going thru that small opening?

    uhm.. no.

just get under the car, remove the driver side splash shield, and excess the filter that way.
    LEDs.... yay!

Ah, I didn't know that it was mounted inside the fender. I stand corrected then.

just jack up the car, take off the driver side tire and take off the fender well just enough so you can get in and take off the filter its really easy.
