A couple of weeks ago, I had the great fortune of visiting Jotech Motorsports new facility on Dividend Drive in Garland, Texas (My hometown.. Gig'em Owls!) I went there to inject more money into their 2AZ-FE monster motor display. In a bit of crafty salesmanship, there hangs on the side the original Nitto tC turbo setup. No, Tony was not the mastermind behind this. It was his protegé Armando.
Unfortunately, I had no camera with me and my Son's dog munched my cell to kibbles and bits. This facility is going to be amazing. Being an old mattress factory outlet, Kenny and the Boys have plenty of square footage to frolic in. They now have an expansive retail storefront with 2 waiting rooms and the ever popular Nitto tC on display. The back end has 3 or 4 full lifts (I lost count), a dedicated engine building shop, a large fabrication area, and plenty of floor space for a multitude of cars. Out back is plenty of secure parking and another building that houses the inground 2-wheel dyno and soon to be completed 4-wheel chasis dyno. They even have space to store long-term project cars and other shop vehicles.
Slow economy? I think not. According to Kenny, they have been extremely busy and had to hire more help (my application is in his inbox). This was evident by the 4 '09 Nissan GTR's in various stages of upgrades. They even had time to do a little tweaking on their '08 project xB. I just missed my chance to take a ride around the block in it. Darn!
If you ever in the Big D area, you should stop by and pay a visit. Best hurry though for the 2AZ-FE monster motor will be going off display as soon as I figure out the transmission that will be mated to it.
