    Default Help with HID install

ok so i installed a pair of 6k hids i got from mod express. a couple months went by with no problem. then one day the right head light doesnt light up...now 8months later i start the car and the ****in light turns on. weird. so i connected the left side and im cruising with both my headlights feelin good. now it seems like it only turns on when it wants. everything is connected properly. anyone have similar issues or suggestions? its suuuper annoying so ive been driving with my daytime running lights (led) and my vrd's on.

Alot of HID kit's modules will plug directly into the OEM headlight harness, but the plugs are not exact match. This will cause a poor connection at best. Couple that with water intrusion and you have the makings of corroded contacts. This can cause the lights to function sometimes and not at other times. I would check here and make sure that the connectors are actually locking tightly. I have been through 3 HID kits that I had to rewire the OEM harness by flipping the wires. The HID module is reversed wired. Of course, they would not work at all if this is your case, but if you re-pinned the harness plug then you might have a wire pin that did not lock all the way.

You must have missed the class on my sense of humor.
Either you meant to literally been though the ringer or mistype hail as in hailstorm. A little joke about driving thru hell in your tC and being ticketed by the hell police for having HID's.
