I'm a fairly new tc owner and I had a question about IPOD connectivity....I opted for the pioneer system that was satellite and Ipod ready but.....and maybe it's cuz I'm blind....I can't find the connection. I know this question is stupid but I really can't find it...any help would be appreciated.

If you are indeed driving an 05 you might not have the ipod connection option. My friends 05 doesn't have that option.

Late joining this conversation, but I had the same confusion when I bought my '06.
I talked to the dealer and they had no idea what I was talking about. Now, I bought my car slightly used, so I still don't know if maybe the car came WITH the cable that is needed to interface your ipod, but the dealer told me it did not, and it was actually a Pioneer product I needed to get elsewhere... I called around EVERYWHERE and no tech stores knew what the hell I was talking about. There are actually two plug in's available, one is simply the 1/8" jack (does not allow interface on the head unit and does not charge) and the other is the direct interface one. Some shmuck at Circuit City thought he knew what I was talking about and simply sold me the 1/8" adapter. It worked, but no interface... So, I did a ton of Google searches and eventually found the cable on Ebay, as the other person mentioned. It is a special cable designed specifically for Scion TC ipod/Alpine interface. I think it cost me around $35.00 and was WELL worth it. As someone else said, I am pretty sure that the '05 cars did not have this option available though. So, only '06 and up I think. |
