Default iPod cable - charging not supported?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, just got my tC last week. Anyway, I have one of the newer generation iPod nano's and it tells me that charging is not supported with the provided iPod cable. Does that happen for ALL iPods or is it a generation specific issue? Didn't realize that it wasn't just a USB cable in there, wish it was so this issue could be avoided...

That just might be the case. The IPOD connector is actually connected directly into the OEM radio. No simple USB cable here. You will have to check your Owner's manual for the radio and IPOD interface for compatibility.

I had an Ipod...not sure if it is the nano(not a tech person sorry), but it was suffering the same issue at first. My friend who is a toyota dealer told me that it is supposed to charge and got me a new cable installed inside warranty...could be your problem as well.
It was the same cable but they just reinstalled it.
