question about bottom grille?

i want to remove the bottom grille because i bought a debadged top grille and so they dont match. and i like the look of an intercooler showing through the bottom. now youll just see my stock radiator since i dont have an intercooler.

but my dad says that i shouldnt because of rocks flying up and hitting my radiator. so is this a good idea or not?

Your Dad is wise beyond your years. I would listen to him. Without a grille there, you very well run the risk a rock piercing your A/C Condenser. The lowest price replacement on non OEM quality will run you about $180. $60 plus labor is the going rate just to service the system. I would find the mate to the lower grille.

seeing as my dad is not really into customizing cars. hes more of the "keep everything stock" kinda guy.

also, the 08+ have different stock bottom grills. They are more just lines running long ways. The 07s and older have the octogon checkered thing goin on. Maybe just switch bottom grills with a different year.

yeah ive been thinking about that too. but i wasnt sure if the newer ones would fit.
because i actually like both of the grilles on the new ones. the top has the holes right? like circle holes instead of like a diamond pattern...

All of the top grilles are the same. And the bottom grilles will fit into each other.

Removing either top or bottom grilles and driving around wouldn't be a good idea. Any flying debris will damage or puncture your A/C Condensor as well as the Radiator. If your looking to upgrade your top or bottom grilles, I replaced both my grilles from CustomTC.com - your source for Scion TC aftermarket accessories, parts and decals. I bought the black powder coated and absolutley love them. They went in very easily, match and look great, plus I was able to debadge my tC logo and relocate it to the top grille using double-sided tape.
