Default i'm new and wondering if this is normal.

I just bought an 08 scion tc automatic trans a week ago yesterday and when i get on the gas a little the car pulls kinda hard to the left and steering wheel turns slightly clockwise. Is this just normal torque steer. Also at same time there is a little pop or knock noise. I thought at first the noise could be the motor mount but if it is in park it would still make the same noise or am I wrong. Thank you in advance. Other than that I love this car. It is a big upgrade from my last car which was a 2004 Chevy cavalier ls sport.

Welcome to Club-tC and congrats on your o8 Scion tC. I own an o6 Scion tC Azure Pearl and I have experienced the same thing as you, but never heard a knock or popping sound. There is going to be some obvious torque steer with any FWD. In my case, my tC will spin the right front tire more than the left front, pulls to right as well as the steering wheel. I would have to say its all going to depend on what tire is slipping/gripping. If you are hearing a popping/knocking sound, I would have all the motor mounts and tranny mounts checked, IMO that noise doesn't sound normal. If you had bought a manual tC you could upgrade to a TRD Limited Slip Diff, unfortunately since we both have Auto's, the limited slip upgrade won't work. Also keeping in mind, if one tire is more worn than the other, that tire is going to have more spin/slip verses the other and also pending on your air pressure.

my tc does the same when i gas it. it'll pull slightly i believe its the torque for the popping i had an issue with that and was wondering what it was then i got out the car and relized it was the car settling. like springs and exhaust jus like a cool down or something kinda odd. but jus listen for it outside and look for proximity of source

Taking her to dealer asap. I here noises from front end when turning. I think something is loose on the suspension and I will have them check tranny and motor mounts. I don't think that is the problem since I here similar chatter when turning. I here the main noise only if I am in motion and accelerate. I know torque steer is normal in most fwd but mine pulls to the left and steering wheel goes to the right. Normally in past cars if car pull left the wheel went same direction. Just worried cause I just got her and have wanted one since they came out. Will post what I find out. Also check engine light Is on and gas was tightened and looks fine. Hope this won't become normal with this car.

Your CV joints on your drive axles maybe bad or damaged. Are there any signs on road rash on any of the wheels? Some people confuse sound and pulsation coming from excessive wheel hop, but that comes from flooring it and spinning the wheels. You can try going to an empty parking lot and making sharp turns in reverse going from wheel lock to wheel lock. Usually a bad CV joint will rear it's head with loud clicking. Motor mounts are another possibility but I doubt it is the case. Some cars experience this sound (Dodges) when their upper bearing mounts for the front struts wear out from excessive play. Have a competent alignment facility or the Dealership check it out. Try doing a search on the Forum for popping noise.
