Default spec package? yes or no?

i'm thinking about getting the tc soon and i'm deciding whether or not to get the spec package?

did anyone get the spec package so that's cheaper and then add their owns rims and tires? How much do rims and tires run for? I'm deciding whether or not saving $1400 is worth it.

Any help appreciated. Thanks

Well, recently I got into an accident and the insurance totaled my car. Paid me back quite a decent price for it. Anyhow, I went ahead and bought a spec package. Scion took out a lot of things from the car: Moonroof is replaced with a fixed glass, driver seat changed, no engine cover, 16" steelies with a 7 spoke cover, no cruise control, and other things, which aren't really necessarily important. Anyhow, I bought the 07' spec edition and plan to change a lot of things, i think.

Not many aftermarket parts (performance wise) are out yet. I'm looking for an CAI or Short ram, 17" rims, exhaust system, suspension (prolly Eibach) cuz i don't want the ride too low, front lights from stock to projectors, and last thing i'd get will prolly be a body kit. I like to do performance parts instead of looks. I mean, once you're done with modding it out . . . what would be really different? Not much, except for that fixed glass moonroof. Where I live, i don't need a moonroof. So, there ya go. It is cheaper to buy the spec package if you really want to change things around. Otherwise, get the regular ones, but think about this. . . with a ground effects kit on the tC, it costs $995, and once you added on then you really don't wanna spend more bucks getting a different one. You can get rims out there that looks much nicer AND more affordable. Oh, a definite must have are floor mats, frekkin' spec package doesn't come with any, so i'd suggest adding that!

That's all I have to say about it. I got the Flint Mica and it looks pretty nice. I wanted the white tC, but Flint Mica is a better choice cuz it is more metallic like and won't fade as fast as white. Your choice. Some people hate it and some like the idea. It's personal preference. Goodluck!
