A resonator is designed for balancing and canceling out certain sounds/tones. By removing them, you will be increasing sounds as well as more unneeded rasp. Is this an exhaust resonator question?

Its useless, unless you want your car to be ultra quiet....save yourself the 1-2lb and remove it.

The exhaust resonator is also part of your midpipe, so you can have an exhaust shop cut it if you really don't want it. A lot of aftermarket midpipes include them in. It will definitely make your car a bit louder.

I would suggest upgrading your OEM resonator w/ one from either Magnaflow or Moroso Spirial Flow. Also, the longer the resonator, the less noise/rasp/quieter your exhaust tone will be.
