    Question Stock Head Unit?

Hey guys I got a 2006 tC and it has the stock HU in it. The unit reads the CD and the radio works there is just no sound coming out of the speakers. Just wondering what you guys know about this? Hoping just something simple.

i'd just take it to the dealership..better safe that way than try to fix it and screw something up if its worse.

Does no sound come out period or does it shut out after a while and come back on at will??

No sound at all comes out. I am going to get an aftermarket one but I'm wondering if what is wrong with this one will affect the after market one.

yah, the head unit sounds like its either not processing right. the odds of all your speakers not working at once is a slim chance unless there is a bad connection somewhere

Thanks guys, I get paid on friday so i'm looking to get a deck, amp, and sub any suggestions on where and what. I'm sure you guys all know what is out there and what I should get. I'm not looking to rattle my car to pieces just something to add a little more sound to the car.

    Did this ever get resolved?

I just bought an 06 (xb, not tc...but same radio i'm sure. pioneer t1806). The audio works great...for about 20 minutes. After some amount of time it just goes silent. The head unit doesn't change, the iPod songs keep cycling and everything looks normal, there just isn't any sound. If i switch the unit to sat/am and then back to iPod or FM the sound comes back for about 10 seconds and then cuts out again. Once the car has been sitting for a while (not sure how long it needs) and i go back to it the sound works again for 20-30 minutes before cutting out.

    What the heck! any ideas?
