    - 2 T-30 torx bit screws on each side of the steering wheel..
    - pull out on airbag (no need to disconnect it)
    - 1 phillips head screw for each piece
    - cut zip tie and unplug connector for the radio control piece.
    LEDs.... yay!

I didn't know you had to pull on the airbag...

Me either. Might as well install an aftermarket wheel if you don't use those controls.

He's only talking about taking off the silver accents to paint them. I will be doing the same thing when I go to paint my waterfall.

it is very easy to do... I can do it blindfolded.. lol

not hard to mess up, though initially when you first need to loosen those screws, you'll need some torque (small rachet with a torx bit (and extension) is recommended)

since you are not disconnecting the air bag, you don't need to disconnect the battery

what parts are you talking about?

dude... "Taking apart a scion 101"

it's like legos... most parts just pull right off.
if not, there's a nut, bolt, or screw somewhere that comes off easily.

yea.. for the older models, that silver part is still black for us..

but yeah.. THAT specific piece? yeah... it comes right off. just get your fingernail or something in there.. and it pulls right off... takes seconds.

thanks and the guy that is doing all the paint work for me said he can also smoke my taillights but he said instead of buying special paint he would mix clear and black paint and use that to smoke it have you heard of that per chance

i've never heard of mixing an (what i would assume) an opaque pigment (your black) together with a transparent paint (the clear) to make a decently transparent smoke color..

at that point it would really reduce the light output i would think (as it would become probably more a transluscent paint than a transparent one..)

a proper smoked candy paint job (transparent) would probably work better... but i guess if he didn't use that much black paint, and it was a light smoke.. then it would work...

that is unless you're going for the mafia, "this is really illegal", blacked out taillight look.. at which point it doesn't matter.

naw i will admit i bought the shifter off the internet i love it i am telling you probably the most erganomical shifter i have ever seen it just fits right. A little dissapointed on the leather i wish it was something else so i could have painted it red like everything else but there is no way to paint the same color on a leather shift knob so i will have to live with the grey till it rubs off which it is already doing. anyways thanks for all the help more pictures forthcoming got to get it tinted this weekend than next week comes the paint on the doors than the following weekend the tailights. than its time to go into the brakes and the suspension which are severly lacking i have had this car loose control twice now while applying full brake force so something is wrong i dont know what but the ass end likes to sway. sorry for run on in a rush to get to work and work on some mor computers yay
