    Default Key Fob

I have a mazda cx-9 key fob, its a switchblade key and i like it more then the standard scion key.

Does anyone know how i should go about reprogramming this key to make it work on my car? or what i would need to do in order to make this work?

I have my spare scion key and i am willing to sacrifice it if necessary lol

Alright i was able to get the scion key to work with the Mazda Key Fob, so it does swing out and turns the ignition, HOWEVER, it does not start the engine. I don't know what to do about the transponder or the buttons.

Should i just give up? or does anyone have any ideas?

Doesn't the key have a chip in it? i don't think it will work without moving the chip too

you can't program that key.. just cut open the stock key (since it looks like you already have anyway...) and move the chip over into the new fob.
    LEDs.... yay!

this is definetly not going to be as easy as i thought, the problem with just moving the chip is that it is completely different then the Mazda chip (no ****), so i have to make the holes and make a small enclosure for the Scion chip.

It is best to give up on this dream. The factory keyless entry is encrypted so you would have to move that circuitry as well. You mess up your transponder or the fob and it is a pricey replacement. Do something cool like add an LED flashlight or laser to the Scion fob. How about mounting surface mount LEDs along the perimeter of the front and back halves of the fob housing. Then figure out how to insert a micro microphone and circuitry to drive a sound sensitive flashing LED display in the fob. That would look sic flashing to the music while your parked or driving and is possibly more feasible.

You can do what Squall just said and get a new key FOB that way.
