when i see things like this it just makes me proud to be an owner.
Darn lucky. I called and talked to Tony for a good while on the phone. Apparently I used to get hustled by Kenny playing pool back when we were kids in G-Town at a fellow friend's convience store (Minute Mart). I suppose that he was so awe-inspired by my '79 Merc Capri with the 302 and the big Mr Gasket ram scoop sitting a top the hood
Actually, Jotech is a big tuner shop in Texas, not just racing. I had long talks with Kenny and Tony about Scion. Apparently the guys at Jotech are real hot on the tC and the 2AZ-FE. The things they pushed that Nitto tC thru are just simply amazing. 2007 is going to be a huge year for Scion, not just in the racing world, but mainly on the street. Kenny has his eye square in the tC. The 2AZ-FE and Toyota have a strong rep. My tC was running way lean and still making power (blame the Greddy). Kenny said that a Honda B-series motor running lean like that, well, you would be pulling pieces out of your oil pan!
Yep, the tC will soon be the next "must have" tuner car once Jotech gets in the mix with ZPI, Rippmods, and Dezod. Good thing that Scion keeps the production numbers low.
As for the cost of a Jotech dyno-tune, I will leave that up to them to quote you. Let's just say it was very reasonable for the caliber of work. 228.4 whp and 190.8lbs tq does not sound much; true. I am sure I can squeek more out of my current setup, but why push the limits for bragging rights? I can romp on 228.4whp all day long, in any condition, and any brand pump gas without fear. My IAT was not reading, so that is pretty much all that could be safely tuned. It started acting up a week before I got the tune. Time to recheck the wiring and meter out the MAF and see whats up.
When I get back from Italy in a month or so, I am heading back to Jotech for RAM induction, custom 2.75" exhaust, 14.5PSI, I/C, and one hella of a tune!

again.....u lucky bastard....hahahaha, ur right about ur setup, i want a totally dependable daily driver with as much SAFE ponies as i can push out without riskin anything, so im definitely considering the trd supercharger route, one quick question, how does the supercharger sound, anything like a turbo, does it blow off, thanxx
sittin on 17's
Stock - No sound at all. You will always get gearbox noise from the backlash of the Vortech gearset, but just at idle.
My setup, does have a nice sound. No BOV "swoosh" mind you. It is more of the high RPM whine coming from the compressor spooling up. Again, not like a turbo spooling. I have the TurboXS BPV and a custom short-ram intake. If I bring 1st and 2nd gear RPMs up slowly to 5-6K, you can hear the compressor spooling up, the intake sucking hard, then the BPV opening. At that point, it sounds similar to a small turbo w/o a loud BOV. Some people ask if that is a turbo when they hear it and others when they see it.

wow thanx, i love the spoolin sound of superchargers! definitely gonna look into it, u think if i went to the dealership where i bought my car, they could hook it up and include the price with my financing!

I believe that it can only be done at the time of purchase (tC). If you have not completed the financing on the car, then it may be possible.
Kenny Tran and Jotech are located in my hometown; Garland, Texas (near Dallas).

where did you get that wing for your tc i have been looking for something similar for mine but all i can come up with is the little do nothing wings that toyota offers.
Kaminari CF race wing. It is adjustable. I bought it from ZPI but it took a very, very long time to get it. Double check the company you buy it from and make sure that they can get it and how long. Call Kaminari and ask how long it will take for them to build it. Be aware that the end caps are fiberglass gelcoated white and have to be finished before install.

wow, you know the guy, eh?
500 horses on a scion. bet he peels out in 3rd gear, lol. what was his quarter mile on that thing
Actually don't think that the car has made any passes on a track. According to Kenny, the Nitto tC was just a proof of concept vehicle for the SEMA show. The car is actually a pre-release 2004 model.

wHAT SIZE ARE THOSE TIRES AND WHAT KIDA BODY KIT DID YOU PUT ON THAT BEAST? i HAVE A SCION SAME COLOR AND I WANT TO PUT SOME CHROME RIMS THEN DO A BODY KIT. aND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND TO SEE WHAT SIZE TIRES LOOK GOOD ON THIS TYPE OF CAR? AND I LOVE THE WAY YOURS LOOK! AND THE BODY STYLE
Damn fine car.
Unfortunately 220 WHP is all I'm looking for in my tC.
I'm just not a power junkie. =D
The Nitto tC is not mine. It belongs to Nitto Tire and was built and maintained by Jotech Racing. You can contact Tony Cheung or Kenny Tran at 972-278-9744. They can give you the specs on the tires/wheels. The original SEMA design was 20" wheels but they down sized to a 19". The Time Attack trim is running 19" I think.
Then the TRD S/C running 9~10PSI is just what ya need.

I believe it is this one from APR Performance.
I like it way more than mine. When I get my CF trunk and start hitting the track, I will probably switch over to that one. Yeah, I know that it looks like I am copying the Nitto tC. I am even going to eventually go to a bright blue color similar to it, but that is it. I new about that VIS hood back in March before it was available, so in that aspect I am knew about it before the Nitto rebuild.![]()

I disagree. I think the clutch is good for everyday driving but, definitely not for aggressive driving. The stock clutch is not made for aggressive acceleration. I recommend a High-Performance clutch with quicker engagement as well as a Quick-Shifter. I hated my stock clutch so I myself am upgrading to the High-Performance clutch. I'm not a newbie and I can use my clutch, just I'm used to a much quicker engagement and with my stock clutch I have to come practically all the way off the clutch for it to engage.
man the scion is sick and love the color really awsome and i my self am thinking of getting something in to my tc like a stage 2 turbonetics turbo bolt on or something like that but can anybody tell me who is faster scion tc or infinity g35 stock and infinity automatic from 0 to 60 and my tc being 5 speed plz get back to me on that one because i got a challenge and there is money involved in for the winner haha i want to be sure before i back out and i am a preaty good driver with the take off and all that
even if ur a pretty quick shifter, you aren't beating a g35 if you're stock. you may take him off the line, but he'll be on you and pass you before you know it.
i lost to a stock rx-8. im nice on the launch and shifts, but halfway thru 3rd he caught and passed me. not much i could do!
Yeah. Ever since i heard your story about the rx-8 and how you think i could take one I want to race one so bad.
Boost!
