Can't wait to drop them in. Still have to order the bearing kit from TRD Sparks.
Another note, I am having a heck of a time w/ TRD and Vortech trying pull info and rebuild parts from their clutches. I have nearly 30K miles on my S/C and would like to go ahead and rebuild it when I port it. I found a guy that sells rebuild kits but he is not sure if what he has will work specifically on the TRD. Just needing bearings and seals. Everything is working fine, but it is always smart to refresh fully anything that you are working on.

Replacing clutches is rather easy. It is the k-member (sub-frame) on FWD cars that is a pain. It usually requires lowering a bit to drop the transaxle, although, some well design cars only require removing the transaxle motormount. You will also have to disconnect the CV axles. This could be somple as just giving the axles a 'good pull' or as difficult as removing a c-clip at the differential. Also, you may or may not require the use of a lift, though it is always easier with it.
As far as the tC goes, I am not sure of of the difficulties. Currently, Project tC is in the lab (GF's driveway) for Stage 3 mods. I plan on tackling the transmission once I am back from Asia mid July. Right now, everything is on hold because of a stripped button-head bolt preventing me from removing my TRD.

Are you S/C, turbo'd, or N/A. I pieced my together with Spectre parts at Autozone. I did not want to blow money on a SRI/CAI when I my plans were to build a custom RAM induction which just so happens to be going in soon.
I have decided to buy all of the equipment needed to powder coat parts myself. I have alot that I want done and it is more affordable than paying for a shop to do it. My GF does not mind cause she gets a new stove!

![]() Just to update my slow arse project. 1. Waiting on powder coating equipment. 2. Trying to squeeze parts from Vortech. 3. Order LSD main bearings. 4. Finishing modded OEM grille. 5. Putting finishing touches on Hella mounts on lower grille. 6. Purchasing a MIG to start fashioning brackets. 7. Order super secret junk for special project. 8. Waiting for Safe Injection from Snow Performance. This and much more is keeping me busy. |
