Black and blue are my fav color combinations. I have an '83 Mercury Capri that was Ford midnight Blue Metal Flake. The car had the front end replaced but it was never completed. That was why I got it for a song..... La, La, Lu.... move Hanna Banana

I ended up painted the front in a black primer that was feathered into the blue metalflake. Everyone thought that it was an expensive custom paint job. I did it with Krylon! That is also when Van Hagar had the Black and Blue album, so I named the car 'Black and Blue'. I even had 2 12" MTX Blue Thunders that would dislocate your balls.
To answer the question on the grille, what I did was dremel out the lettering in the Scion emblem and the background in the grille. Then I used opaque plastic from a 1/2 quart eggnog jug (yes, there was irish whiskey!). I cut out one to fit behind the emblem and the other to go behind the background. I took a white domelight LED board and cut it in half, drilled holes in the grille behind the emblem lettering, and mounted them there. I then made a ring from aluminium, shaped it to the Scion oval, then glued it in place on the grille background. Inside that ring I placed a 10" Optix flexible blue LED strip. The white and blue will be wired separately. Later, I am going to build a circuit to control the lights in a thunderstorm mode with the white being the lightning and the blue being the cloud reflections. I might manufacture these in a more professional package for my business.
