Just some updates on my hybrid IC setup. Here is phase one; oil cooler and twin Oddessy batteries for the 24-48volt TECs. Next is a remount of the batteries to the lower front-end, installation of the power supply for the TEC's. Phase 3 will be the addition of the liquid to air IC and the TEC resevoir. Phase 4 will be the fuel TEC cooler and may include an air to air TEC precooler and methly-alky water injection system.

Yes it is. The batteries are going to be relocated to the lower front bumper area. The resevoir for the liquid-air IC will be located fwd of the left front wheel-well (similar to the windshield washer resevoir). The CAI will be moved to to an area more condusive for RAM effect. Where at the moment, I am no sure.

Looking good as usual. What kind of paint did you use? Did you do it yourself?

Thanks. Here is an exerpt from the ZPI forum. The entire thread (short) is listed here --- http://www.zeropointindustries.net/f...read.php?t=338

Spanx guys. I did it myself. Poor man's powder coat.

TRD - Blue/Black Autozone caliper paint kit (brush on, not spray)
Note: Suggest using high quality paint brushes from art supply as the acid brushes in the kit suck arse. Painted it before I had the Dealer install under warranty. Both Vortec and TRD said it was no prob to do this.

Valve cover - Scotch Brite pad to clean it up, then used my dremel and buffed it to a smoother finish (left a lil grain for paint adhesion.) Used the caliper cleaner from the kit to clean it off, then went back over it with a lint free rag using a paint prep wax/adhesion remover. Used Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter as a primer (3 light coats), then bse coat of Dupli-Color Metal Specks Blue ( 1 light coat and 4 med coats). Finished it off with Dupli-Color Clear Acrylic Laquer as the top coat (2 light coats, 3 med coats, 1 final light coat for surface uniformity).

All bought at Autozone (Military Discount). Holds up very well to engine heat. My oil dipstick tube is painted the same way. It sits right next to the header and has shown only a very slight dullness in the sheen of the top coat just in the small area next to the header.

Loving it. The low end powerband is tame when you replace the OEM exhaust. Anything over 3 grand is game but 4500 will put you back in the seat a bit. Ripp Mods has theres up to 311WHP with some head and cam work. Ordering my 14.5 NST pulley today then I can start adding my toys. 1st is going to be my Greddy Ultimate. Stay tuned.

Thx. Better run a methyl/alky water injection on 14PSI and have a piggy back E-manage or you will blow things up. I am still at 9PSI with a ZPI pulley and the TRD flash. Pulls rather well on 89 octane. In fact, it does it's best performance in the colder months on 89. 93 works best during the summer fo this tune. When in closed loop, especially a cold day, this biotch gets up and goes like I have never seen before. 37F, 89 octane (Texaco) and only a 2 min warm up was the parameters. I started out slow in first and romped on it. It was pulling so damn hard when I hit 2nd that I almost lost grip of the steering wheel! I was quite suprised. Now only if I can my Greddy Ultimate to tune like that.

Dang straight. Always go with whom you trust. I don't pit one shop against another. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. In the end, reliability and accountability are what makes or breaks any business. Yeah, I have had some hickups with ZPI, but they have always come thru in the end. I can't say that about other companies that I have dealt with over the past 20 years. If you are looking for the low brow, low ball approach, then these guys aren't for you. ZPI, along with NST and RIPPMODDS have done far more for the tC and Scions in general than anyone else. They know their stuff and put alot of effort in making Scions the Top Dogs on the street and track.

Update>>>

Greddy Ult. about to be installed along with my PLX Devices SM-AFR Wideband Controller. I have the NST 14.PSI pulley but will not install it till I get my water/meth injection kit. My tranny is getting one hell of an upgrade here real soon.

I also painted the dash console the same black metal flake as my Kaminari wing mounts.
