hey guys this is nick... im from ames iowa..... i love moddingmy scion.... im gunna post some pics of it and let me know what you think...... i will include some of my progress on the body kit that im making for my tc..... and a little picture of what i plan for an engine build.... the engine might suprise some of you......















































and now for the engine.... lets just say my new plates will say SRTSWAP

great idea for the swap. im sure you've been researching it and measuring and what not. what made you decide on the srt?

well my freinds are srt geniuses.... so that plays big.... and if you think about it..... a turbo tc puts down about 230-240 to the wheels and that from a like 2500 dollar turbo kit.... my freinds can get me a complete swap for roughly 1750..... and not to mention the tc engine has an impressive selling rate.... considering they go into about every toyota made..... and they sell for 2000 to 2500 for everything.....so i figure at best i can break even and have 230 whp from the srt.... and the srt engine is a better platform for performance... due to the fact that they are completely forged internals and built to hold boost....so thats where im coming from on that.... and i want to be unique.... if you havent noticed already i love standing out.... does anyone think my fornt kinda looks like a 350z..... or am just crazy

yea im defintiely feelin the swap! maybe i'll do that too (sorry for biting!) in the future! that makes a lot of sense all you say about the price and the motor being built specifically for boost.

your front does resemble a 350Z!

Awsome ride. I think you might be gettign in deep with a swap like that. The ECM and the CAN network is connected to everything. You will need some tricky integration to keep the auxilliary modules alive. Did you know that the stock internals on the 2AZ-FE can solidly handle 300WHP on a daily basis? There are a few pushing the 350WHP envelop on the stock low-end. Of course, e-manage is required for those levels an suggested for 240WHP and above.

Please don't take me wrong, a swap like that would make your tC unique. Sorry, I am just a purist I guess.

nice car man, very unique. whered did you get those fender vents from? did u cut out a hole to insert em or are they just the stick on type. either way theyre hott and that srt swap sounds serious.

wouldn't u have to change the transmission too? isnt the srt 6 spd vs our 5 spd? (never seen a swap before so i dont know)

they have a 5 speed... and i would be swapping everything..... and yes i did know bout that but with the srt engine... its much cheaper to obtain those numbers than with our engine.... our engine just wasnt built for awsome performance.... and when it comes down to it.... the fastest daily driven tc ive seen/heard about is a low 12's car..... low 12's for an srt is almost too easy....just the way the transmission is and the gearing...and not to mention the lsd thats in the 04 and up tannys of the srt.....think about what amount of money i would have to put into a tc to make it on the same level as the srt engine and drivetrain... its just too much.... and i think it will be sick to have a swapped engine tc..... my opinion.... but i do appreciate people that are purrists.... it keeps the scene on a good level...and i will be posting more pics of my body kit here later this evening.....

Go for it. It is your ride and it would make it completly unique. Don't mind me none. It is just a throw back to my FOMOCO days when I would cringe at seeing a 350 Chevy crate motor in a '27 Ford T-Bucket. For me, I am still planning a RWD, mid-engine V6 swap.

if i get lucky financially, im gonna buy another tC, take the 2AZ-FE out, and just wait for one of you to successfully complete a swap. then im copying! gotta be the dominant car in south jersey!

those stick on side vents are about the only thing i dont like on the car.

agreed about the side vents .... the looked cool at first but then they were just ricer.... i got my body kit just about done now.... so when i get that done and painted i will be puting on stockers for the fenders again....

Run your purge jets thru the vents via a 3-way manifold for each side. Poof! No longer just for looks.
