I figure it was time for me to add my tC to the collective horde.
I purchased her as a BDay gift to myself. My previous car was a 1991 Celica ST (300k on the engine) but after a fender bender I thought it was time to retire her.
When I went to the Toyota/Scion dealership they didn't even have any manual tCs on the floor or lot. They had a bunch of automatic versions but I didn't want to even try driving one of those. So I just put down a down payment and waited 3 months for her delivery.

Power: ???* I'll be happy to make 200hp when it's all said and done but I'll need a piggy back and many other things to address.
Right now she's got over 114k mileage on her. She's definately proved her worth so far with little problems (save the mystery rattles).
Other Projects:
- 1990 Toyota Celica Alltrac (the Money Pit)
Let's start with the history.
Bought it in 2003 from another Alltrac user (1990 ST185, red). He decided to swap out the original engine for a JDM engine. The previous owner just started turning wrenches and was pretty green. She was in bad mechanical shape. She didn't start but the body was immaculate (esp. being up here in MN) condition save for a few dings. He was asking $6k for her non running. I laughed and we got her down to $2300 with a quickness.
After many attempts trying to get it started (and going through 6 mechanics) she finally sputterd to life. Granted she was running very hot at least one important problem was out of the way.
Just because she started didn't mean anything as I couldn't get her into gear. The said previous owner installed the clutch backwards. After trouble shooting (I was going to school at the time so funds were non-existant) some more I just decided to pull the whole JDM crap out. I started saving up for PMP ever since I purchased it, but now the goals have changed. What was going to be a 300hp Evo killer had now changed to a 500hp beast hunting Vette's and Porsches.
I spoke with Chris K. from Engine Logics on a beef'd up 3sgte. I got a quote of about $13k+ and pretty much shat my pants. This wasn't including EMS, clutch to hold that power, fuel, turbo/intercooler. All I could think was "I'd better start eating ramen again."
Fortunately an MR2 owner was selling his Chris K. longblock for a nice price and I jumped on that instead. On top of that I got his fuel setup and turbo kit. As of late I've just been buying parts here and there trying to figure out
- which ems am I going with (AEM is getting the nod)
- 2.5 or 3in diameter piping for the fmic
After those have been sorted out then I'll get to making PMP look good.

Goal: 550hp+
Status: Sitting on the jack stands awaiting the Powerball Jackpot.
I've purchased an UBER rare custom Bilstein coilovers made for that crazy Aussie Justin's V8 Turbo Alltrac (900hp+ RWD). They don't allow dampening but from what I've heard they are rock solid and don't require it (dual tube and INVERTED!). The rebuild alone were over $500 and I bought them from the new owner for a measly $1k!
Recently I've gotten a fellow Alltrac's turbo kit (he hit 540hp on his build) including his FMIC. We've recently also got our group buy on some ACPT carbon fiber driveshafts.
OK now here's the test that you all have to take before proceeding forward... JK. I'm surprised you've made it this far. Looking forward to still hitting that Powerball...
Onto the other two street terrors...
I've purchased 2 1st gen MR2s just for $#!ts and giggles (because they're so cheap)
- 1989 Toyota MR2 (Mittens, the white one)
*Stock for now
*3sgte (same engine as the Alltrac/2nd Gen MR2 turbo) engine swap (soon to be) w/ many good upgrades (I have a spare long block from my Alltrac build)
*T3/T4 dual BB hybrid turbo .63 (previously for my Alltrac but now shifted to this project)
*93+ TRD LSD transmission from an MR2 (SW20)
*Watanabe RS8 16in 34+ offset
*Quiafe quick steering ratio
*Poly bushings at all points
*Honestly...* Too much to list...
Power: It'll easily clip over 350hp in a 1st gen MR2.* Can we say scary as hell?
Future mods:
It'll be close to the Alltrac in terms of modifications.
- 1985 Toyota MR2 (Deamon)
*Poly bushings on every point
*TRD LSD
*Illegal Garage Clutch Kit (DORIFTO!!!)
*MRS OEM Rims
*Custom air intake
*Koni Yellows at all 4 points
*HKS exhaust system (still needs to be put on)
*TRD 421 header (still needs to be put on)
*Straight up GETO rigged straight pipe exhaust with equally obnoxious canister (it's loud that's for sure)
*Winter rust for weight savings and mad aero cooling/downforce
Currently the blue one is getting restored from rust damage. The white one is near immaculate for a MN car (save for the driver side rear quarter with slight surface rust).
The Blue one will be a project restoration and track car. It out handles a lot of newer vehicles (save an S2000; then again that one costs a lot more and has about 160hp more) and will rev to near kingdom come. Not too shabby for an old car.
Other than that a little about myself. I'm a 3D animator and enjoy automobiles and art. My website is Yohdawg.com. I've done some custom work for car parts and what not but I want to branch that out into something further. At this moment I'm still working on my 3D projects and short animations. Hopefully I'll get accepted and study further into mechanical drafting. I'm pretty proud of my work, you should see the 4age engine I modeled and animated...
And ofcourse it's still under construction...
Whew that was long... Thanks for reading... :P
