    Me personally, I would buy the pulley. I have one, just waiting to put it on come spring. The cam is going to be a bit more expensive to buy and have installed, but both are worth the upgrade. You may want to consult with Navy on the pulley to confirm.

    okay. And I've seen many pullies offered. I don't think I want an underdrive pulley. Those steal power from elsewhere right? Why are you waiting until Spring? Are you away from your car? The pullies are relatively inexpensive compaired to the other mods. Cool.

    I bought the Agency Light Weight Pulley in black, and its OEM size, just lighter. Under Drive Pullies are good as well, I have a set on my 1995 Chevy S-10 and help to gain some ponies, where a stock pully is heavier and on my S-10 the cooling fan was attached to the crank pulley. I eliminated the stock cooling fan and bought a Flex-A-Lite Elecetric Fan and March Performance Billet Aluminum Under Drive Pullies (Crank, Alt, and Water Pump), then took off the stock surpentine belt and replaced that with a Goodyear Gatorback belt. Made a huge difference and got some ponies out of it as well.

    To answer the heated debate over what I meant about the CAI, I was just alluding to the fact that the car comes stock with a CAI, though it is not a great one. I lumped two topics into one sentence.

    LW pullies reduce rotational mass and as long as they are properly balanced, you will gain an increase in HP. You will notice that that motor revs up slightly quicker. It is probably your best bang for the buck upgrade for engine performance regardless if you sport an aftermarket CAI or not. The only issues with underdriven pullies is that your accessories turn slower. As such, you could experience elevated water temps, less responsive power steering, A/C output not as cold, and discharging battery under heavy electrical loads at idle. Beyond idle, this would not be a problem.

    Ok, with all that being said about the pullies, Navy would you recommend yes or no on doing a light-weight pulley on the water pump and alternator on the Scion tC? I recall some mentioning to me awhile back that under-drive pullies slow the water pump down and can cause cooling issues as well as not charging the battery properly. I shoulda said what you did, but you beat me to punch, great job!

    I highly recommend replacing all your pullies with LW aluminum. You won't be able to do it for the power steering or the a/c compressor due to their designs. LW pullies are not a prob. It is the underdriven pullies that cause the issue. I have an old ZPI LW crank, a LW NST 15lbs S/C, LW NST h20, and a LW NST alternator that is overdriven. Yes, it is overdriven by 20% not because I have an underdriven crank pulley, but for s special purpose to have more amps available at idle and lower RPM. Due to the increased speed, I rebuilt the alternator with high-speed bearings when I powder coated it. NST are the best on the market and will do custom orders for sizing and color.

    I don't want anything under drive or overdrive. I just want the light weight replacements.

    What is the difference between underdrive, overdrive, and light weight?

    Neeeeeevermind. Just read up on the nst website. How's that for being self sufficient? So underdrive pulleys offer more HP, but you run the risk of other engine problems, right? And overdrives are for S/C and getting more out of your alternator. I have no big lights or sound system so I don't need that.

    Underdrive means the size of the pulley less the size of OEM
    Overdrive means the size of the pulley is bigger than OEM
    Lightweight means it will weight less than OEM.

    Underdrive = Increases the revolution
    Overdrive = Decreases the revolution
    Lightweight = less weight and less stress on

    Aftermarket Pullies are generally made of either billet aluminum or ABS Plastic and other materials.

    Thank you guys very much. I have more ideas. I like the idea of fog lights, but I don't like the way they look with the stock housing. It just doesn't seem to flow together very well. So I'm thinking about getting fog lights and placing them behind the bottom grill, or where the side grills are. But I don't want the vrds. Plus I think they're out of business anyway.

    Cadence, you said the air diversion panels are useful. Do you have one?

    Last I looked, VRD aren't out of business, but here are some sites that sell fog lights for the tC that may interest you:

    Auto Accessories, Headlights, Tail Lights |K2Motor
    Vertex Racing No.1 Car Parts Store - VRD scion tc fog light grille hood damper, jdm, car accessories auto accessories Engine Header muffler short ram intake cold air intake ground wires engine dampers short shifters lighting tail lights projector lig
    Body kits Car body kits Headlights -Lowest Prices!
    Halo Projector Headlights, Euro Headlights, Altezza Tail Lights, LED Tail Lights, Turbo Downpipe, Wheel Spacers - ProTuningLab.com
    FastScions.Com
    TRD Toyota-Scion Performance Parts Accessories from Sparks Toyota-Scion

    I personally like the OEM fog lights, but others like the VRD's. I would get the fog lights in your choice and upgrade the bulbs to HID's. I also have an air diversion panel on my tC, I bought it from DrIsotope.com. Here's a pic of what it looks like:

    If you don't end up putting your fog lights in the corner grilles, you can go to CustomTC.com - your source for Scion TC aftermarket accessories, parts and decals and buy a set of black powercoated grilles, I have them on my tC as well and it will help to get more air into your CAI.

    I saw on here that the Megan headers were actually pretty decent. They are a lot less expensive than the weapon-Rs that I want. Is it worth it to save for the WRs, or are the Megans a good enough product?

    Thanks for the site linx Cadence, I've boomarked a few products from each one lol.

    Your more than welcome and hope those sites help ya out. I recall Navy saying and a few others on here that Megan is ok, but the quality is not anything to brag about, pending on what your buying of course. I would do the Weapon-R or DC Sport IMO. If you buy a header, have it sent out to Jet-Hot and have it Jet-Coated, which is what I did w/ my DC Sport and it came out amazing. Plus the coating they use will help to cut down on the heat and help add some ponies. Are you going w/ a 4-2-1 header or 4-1?

    You may also want to look on this site about the header dyno's I posted and you'll see the difference between DC Sport, Megan and Alphawerks. From looking over the dyno sheet, the difference was a matter of 2 hp gain/loss at most.

    I've actualy never heard of those before you sent that link. I dunno. I'd feel like a poser. I just got new 18" Enkie OR 52s. I'm gonna snap a photo and photoshop the wheels and calipers to find a color scheme I like. I'll post it here and get your guys' input.
