    Default Geezy's Tc.

So I haven't done anything on my Tc for a while. I feel bad, I haven't even given her a X-mas present yet! Well, now I have to get an HID kit, because my base is at such a country state.. So I need it when I drive around the boondocks! Anyways, what's a good HID kit? I mean I have one in mind. Give me your opinion. Mod Express, I was thinking 8000k. What size of bulbs is an 08 tc? H11? Anyways, I also want a cold air intake & exhaust. What are good ones? Thanks guys.

Welcome to Club-tC. First off I would to say going with H.I.D.'s is really going enhance your driving visibility a ton. An 8000K HID system would be my recommendation, although there is 10,000K and 12,000K applications, but your risking getting a ticket. For one, the brightness of the bulb is going to be too bright and in some states is against DOT laws. Secondly, a 10,000K and 12,000K HID emits a purple or greenish light which is also illegal. It may look cool, but will cause you more hassles down the road. I have an 8000K HID system on my 2006 Scion tC, which I love. I started off by upgrading to a Zenon bulb, but they didn't last or give me the brightness and visibilty I was looking for. My HID's are made by (T-View). A great product, reasonable prices, great looking and installation was quite simple. The headlight bulbs are going to be a (9006) and fog lights are (9005).

Now for performance, I would suggest going with a Cold-Air Intake System (K&N, Injen, Weapon-R, AEM). You may also want to consider upgrading your stock exhaust manifold to a ceramic coated header (DC Sport, Weapon-R, Greddy, OBX, Megan). Also adding an after-market exhaust system will look and sound amazing and also get more ponies out of the VVT-i.

Exhaust, I would go with Magnaflow, Borla or TRD. IMO, I don't care for Canister Mufflers aka. Fart Cans... too ricey and too obnoxious sounding.

Thanks man. I was thinking of getting an Injen CAI & Magna Flow exhaust. But anyways the 8000k HID is good with me. I'm sure the risks of getting a ticket is there, but I'm also sure it's not so high. Mod Express has a sale for 85 bucks. What do you think?

$85.00 for an HID Kit is awesome. I paid $125.00 for mine, but I got mine through my buddies business (Team Imagination In Motion). Check out the websites warranty and make sure its what you want. No matter what you go with, they are going to be sick. Thanks for the comments and if you need anything, just ask.

If you want bright HID lights, go with 4300k. they emit the most light and have the least chance you will get pulled over as they are white. 8000k have a blue color. As for the CAI i would go with Injen, from what I have heard they have the most HP gain. The weapon R Headers are the only true 4-2-1 headers out there last time I heard (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) and as for exhaust, just pick one that produces the sound you want to get =)

Everyone says to buy Injen Cold-Air Intakes, but as far as I am concerned, its just a sales gimmic to get you to buy their product. Plus they claim they have the most HP/Torque gains. Lets clear the air and say this much... Injen and every company out there have dyno sheets, but not many people actually see them, Secondly, all or most intake tubes are made from air craft aluminum, others are plastic and use the same filters. The only exception is K&N which uses an oil treated filter. Basically your paying for the name and having the part on your ride. I have never heard any fact to the matter that any particular brand of intake makes more/less HP/Torque verse another. Personally if you have the knowledge, know how and tools, you can custom make your own cold-air intake for a hell of a lot less.

Perfect Hid are 6000k. Anything greater will taint the color I believe.
