Scion South Presents:
Clash of the Scions This is a SCCA Solo/Autocross event run by the Central Kentucky Sports Car Club of America and sponsored by Scion South. What is an Autocross? Autocross events are auto-racing events generally at low to medium speeds. Courses for autocrosses are usually setup on large, flat parking lots. Pylon cones are used to lay out the track. One car at a time runs the course with one basic goal: complete the course as quick as possible. All vehicles that enter an autocross have a specific class they run in. However, for this event we will be running a Scion only class. Which means you don’t have worry about competing against anybody but other Scion drivers. Since autocross is a not for profit event everybody working the course while you are running is a volunteer. This means at some point during the day while you are not running you will be required to work. All Competitors Must Work. Run-work order will be announced at the driver’s meeting, and the worker chief just before the beginning of each heat will announce work assignments. You must check in prior to working. Working can be to your advantage the best example is: working before you run. If you work before you run, you should have a chance to see other cars run through the course before you run. This might give you the opportunity to avoid making mistakes that others are making before you ever drive the course yourself. How does the Scion Class work? With in the Scion Class we will index the times to allow for the differences in tuning and upgrades between Scions. By indexing, we are able to compare a 200hp turbo xA to a bone stock automatic xA or any other Scion. We will need to know ahead of time what type of performance modifications you have done to your Scion for the indexing to work properly, so please register early. How much does it cost? Normally a local autocross would cost around $30, but if you are one of the first 15 Scion owners to register, Scion South will pay for your entry fee. That’s right FREE entry for the first 15 Scion owners to register! Which means even if you aren’t the fastest on the track, if you are fast and register quickly you might still win, sort of. When is it? July 29th 2007 Where is it? Eastern Kentucky University Richmond, KY Trophies will be awarded for: Fastest Overall Scion (Index Time) Fastest Overall Scion (Raw Time) 1,2,3rd place xA (based on index times) 1,2,3rd place xB (based on index times) 1,2,3rd place tC (based on index times) Prizes will be awarded for: Fastest Overall Scion (Raw Time) $200 Gift Certificate Fastest Overall Scion (Index Time) $200 Gift Certificate Fastest xA (based on index times) $75 Gift Certificate Fastest xB (based on index times) $75 Gift Certificate Fastest tC (based on index times) $75 Gift Certificate So if you think you are fast driver or if you think your Scion is fast get registered. Because, when it is all over, Scion South will be handing out trophies and prizes to the top Scion Drivers and who dosen't like trophies and prizes. :silly: PM, email or call to pre-register or ask questions. jsexton@scionsouth.net or 800-688-6968 or 859-619-0191 |
