    Default New to the tC - would love your input

    Whats up everybody, my name is jump3r aka Brad, this is my first scion message board. Im a HUGE MMA fan so ive been apart of a cpl mma sites where you can find me just about all day.

    A lil bio - I turned 31 yesturday (Feb 4) and i livein east Texas. Like i said I love MMA/UFC and I practice BJJ atleast once a week. Ive also started messing around with gas powered RC's...

    My car - I purchased a 2k5 Scion tC around the first of Nov 2009, it had just over 40k miles on it when i got it and I paid cash for it so I got a good deal on the car. I didnt know much about the car, but I have come to love this car. It is a fun car to drive, well here are some pics of the mods/add-ons Ive done so far

    I have added the Viniata mirrored fog lights with grille isert for the lower grille. I have also added the Viniati spolier/lip.
    The head unit is a Clarion VX409 double din touch screen DVD, MTX Terminator series amp and 2 12's. I added an intake I found on ebay, yes it is Bromz Racing, el-cheap-o, but i like the sound and it has been on for a cpl days now and have noticed a slight difference. I have tail lights being delivered anyday now. I was curious as to a decent exhaust possibly, and maybe a chip. I dont think I want to turbo it yet but maybe if the price is right. Are there any other decent mods I should do to it....

    oh yea want to get the TRD carbon fiber valve cover if anyone has one for sale or a good place to get it...

    Nice site and i enjoy reading some of the threads.... any responses are greatly appreciated

    Jump3r aka Brad

    Good to have you Brad, do you study under a Gracie style BJJ system or an Independent? The car looks great man, very clean, very pro looking work. Chips are a waste on the tCs as we have a learning ECM, and as for exhausts there have been countless debates on the site for it, just check under the exhaust section. As for the TRD Carbon Valve cover, I dont know if there is any truth to this but I heard the begin to Yellow after 20K miles or so, just something to look into.

    Good to have you man,
    StreetBrawler-AKA Streets-RLN Nick

    Brad welcome to Club-tC.com. Congrats on your new Scion tC, love the color and very clean inside and out. The mods you've done look great as well. I would suggest the following upgrades:

    * throttle body spacer (Poweraid, Helix)
    * front/rear strut bars (TRD, Greddy, DC Sport, Cusco, Megan)
    * ceramic coated header 4-1/4-2-1 (Weapon-R, OBX, DC-Sport, Greddy, Megan)
    * Air Dirversion Panel (Greddy, Dr. Isotopes)
    * Shorty Antenna (Perrin, S2000)
    * Sway Bars (Hotchkis, Eibach, TRD, Progress)
    * Full L.E.D. Third Brake Light (Ozinium)
    * tC Dead Pedal Plate (ScionPro)
    * Magnaflow, Borla, TRD Axel Back Exhaust
    * Slotted Brake Rotors w/ Ceramic Brake Pads (Brembo, PowerSlot, PowerStop, EBC, StopTech)
    * Stainless Steel Brake Lines (Agency, Goodridge)
    * Lightweight Crank Pulley (Agency)
    * Engine Torque Damper (Ingalls)
    * EyeLids (NIABodyKits)
    * Lowering Springs (Eibach, Tein, TRD)
    * Aftermarket Struts (TRD, KYB, Tokico, Bilstein, H&R)
    * RS1/RS2 Front Lip (RacingSolution)

    Welcome Brad. I must admit that I don't know what BJJ or MMA but I think I know what the UFC is. Where abouts East Texas do you hail from? I am a Texas Boy myself born in Mineola, Wood County. My Mom and Brother live in Emory, Rains County and my kids way out West up in Tarrant County. As far as exhausts go, there are a multitude of products out there. We have stickie discussions that go into great detail in our Exhaust section. Really boils down to what sound, price, and weather F/I or N/A. Save your money on the TB spacers. They have had mixed reviews with some dyno sessions showing power losses. You can add that later if you want. Other than that, go with Cadence's suggestions. If you are not too far from G-Town (Garland), you could visit Kenny Tran at Jotech. They specialize in Supras, Hondas, GTR's, and Scions.
