anybody know the texas laws for nitrous?

This is a discussion on anybody know the texas laws for nitrous? within the Nitrous Oxide (NOS) forums, part of the Scion tC category; i was wondering if anybody knew the laws for nitrous in texas i.e. -wats the punishment for having it installed ...

    Default anybody know the texas laws for nitrous?

    i was wondering if anybody knew the laws for nitrous in texas i.e.
    -wats the punishment for having it installed in your car?
    -can you have it in your car if its not connected?

    Nitrous is not illegal in any car in any state. The only way you could get in trouble for it is if you are in Cali with just a bottle. They could get you with "intent to inhale". You're fine.

    You would only get in trouble if you pulled up next to a law enforcement vehicle, cracked a shiite eating grin, and gave a quick wave as you pressed the button.

    Remember, 50HP shot is the max you would go on a Dry kit, although I recommend only a 25HP shot. A wet kit will allow you up to a 75HP shot. Anymore and it is a snapped rod so don't get juice happy.

    who offers a 25 shot?
    and do you know of the kit that is typically most reliable
    i have very limited knowledge of nitrous at the moment but i'm hoping to learn more and get some extra pull from my tc!

    Is the nitrous going to be your first mod? If so, I would suggest spending your money on something else.

    no, i wouldn't get unitl after soem mroe parts.
    i'll focus on intake and exhaust efficiency for now but i'm basically just curious at the moment.

    Zex.com - Nitrous Performance makes the only Scion tC specific kit that I know of. Most modern NOS kit designs are considered reliable, parts wise. There are many on the market with ZEX being one of the recent comers and NOS being the oldest. Take your pick, but do your home work on what is right for your needs. Changing jet sizes will either increase or decrease power output. 25HP shot systems out-of-the-box are consider "Cheater" or "Stealth" systems.

    If you are running a CAI/SRI intake that is making your car is run lean, then you will experience detonation so either go with a wet kit or keep it a 25HP shot running premium gas for safety. I would suggest a good A/FR gauge.

    i checked out the scion tc kit on the zex site and it says 55-75 hp shot.
    what allows one to get down to 25?
    (sorry if im asking stupid questions, lol)

    There is no such thing as a stupid question. You should be able to just switch out nozzles to a 25 shot.
