Default VIS or Seibon VSII Carbon Fiber Hood

I'm having great difficulty here trying to decide which hood to get. I know both are good brands but Seibon seems to have AA quality and VIS has only A quality hoods. I'm not sure if thats a big difference but it is hindering my decision because i do like the poorer quality VIS EVO style carbon fiber hood.

I am kinda stealing Navy's job here but there is currently a group buy in for a VIS EVO style CF hood.
Check out the details here.

i can see why this is a good deal if i lived in texas and could just pick it up. but after shipping from texas to cali, it would be relatively the same price as any other website ($720) selling the VIS EVO CF Hood. For example bodykits.com sells it for 699 shipped to a commercial location. $730 to my house. so almost the same basically but no hassle of a group buy in.

Steal away there bwood87, steal away

I have personally seen this hood installed on a car, the Nitto tC. I am not sure what the absolute definition of A and AA grade carbon, but I do like the quality and design of this hood. Is this an industry standard or just loose claims made by the manufacturer, much like, an intake that makes 15WHP.

This WILL be the hood that sits on my ride soon enough.

I don't understand how cutting maybe 20lbs at most on a hood is worth of such a large financial investment.

Is there something more to this that I am missing?

I guess the aesthetic value is really important to people. For some reason it means little or nothing to me.

When I was doing touge a couple years back with my Scooby, nothing was more disappointing than cars with killer looks that had near stock performance.

The most important mods can't be seen from the inside. =D

maybe the ladies like the looks . (the ladies that dont know much about cars.) pimp some rims and other aesthetic mods on outside and dvd and subs on the inside, and you're baller level #2!

but seriously, it's dissaponting when i see cars lookin really tight with rims, body kit, cf accessories, and a pep boys special muffler tip!

I hear ya. Feel pretty much the same. To me and my build, it has to provide some function, either to save weight, control aerodynamics, or increase power. The Chinese philosopher Confucius put it more poignantly, "All show and no go".

I choose this hood specifically for the intake vents. I am building a a new intake that will box into the opening when the hood closes. This will take advantage of Ram Air effect for more HP at speed. OK,OK. It is because it looks hot!

Jotech is still doing the buy-in deal for Club-tC members. My hood fits just about as good as the OEM. I haven't shimmed or adjusted yet either, though I still need to "dial it in" just a bit.

Everyone gives me a hard time.

But to be honest, I actually really like the look of the tC stock. Which reminds me, does APR do wind tunnel testing for their spoilers?

The EVO Style VIS hood does not require hood pins.
