the best product to get bugs off cars is with a clay bar.
this will remove pretty much anything gritty that sticks to the paint.
if you're ever run your finger along the paint and it feels like it isnt smooth, this product will get that out.

i always use a clay bar before i wax to ensure a nice and smooth surface.

when you use a clay bar, it comes with a spray bottle to lubricate the area before you use it. if you're just spot checking your car, then this is fine. when you want to clay your whole car, i just do it when i'm washing the car. the soapy water is more than enough lubricant to get inbetween the bar and the car. so i have a sponge in one hand and the clay bar in the other. no other product will work better than this. you can find a clay bar for $10-$15 depending on the brand. ime, the brand doesn't matter.

all you have to do is use a clay bar once and you'll love this product.
it's one of the best products out on the car cleaning market.

I agree, Clay Bars are the bomb. 100% difference in feel and shine. Don't use the blue colored clay as it does scratch the Scion tC's clearc coat. Mother's and Mequire's are the trusted ones to use.

There really isn't a specified time frame. It is clear-coat safe no matter how many times you use it because you keep it lubricated with the detailer wax spray. Trust me, no matter how clean you think your car is (short of a compound buff wax), the claybar will show you just how dirty it still is. Works awesome to remove water spots on paint and glass too.

A good coat of wax will protect your car from the hurricane.

i wouldnt reccomend the wd-40 on your paint, may be fast but cause some issues over time. What i use is a microfiber towl with windex/no ammonia and rub them out, time consuming but works wonders. Id say for use on clay bar, keep your car clean and when you start feeling rough and feel dirt nibs on paint. clay time!!
