You will need a spray bottle filled with a 50% solution of water (distilled) and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (Not Rubbing Alcohol). Some window tint directions call for water with a few drops of liquid soap as an emulsifier to aid in positioning the tint. I find that this can leave cloudy residue spots if you fail to squeegee out all of the water. Using copious amounts of the alcohol/water mix will serve the same purpose without leaving cloudy spots behind. You will also need some lint free wipes and flexible rubber blade (squeegee). Best to work in a well lit garage away from dirt, debris, and out of the sun.

Work surface needs to be cool and clean so start with an already cleaned light. Before you remove the protective backing of the overlay, position onto the lens for proper placement. Now, spray the solution onto an already cleaned surface and wipe with the lint free cloth to remove any residues. Remove the protective backing on your overlay and discard. Spray the adhesive side of the tint with an even amount of the solution then spray the light's surface with copious amounts of the solution. Immediately center the overlay onto the lens using only enough pressure to get it to lightly stick to the surface. Always lay from the center out being careful not to create any folds or leaving any excessive pockets of solution. You will be able to re-position the overlay a bit if you don't get it squared up from the start. Work quickly to position properly. Note: If you find the overlay sticking and becoming hard to move, you can gently lift it up from the surface and reapply the solution.

Once the position is correct, begin to press the overlay down onto the lens starting from the center out. Now, spray the outside of overlay a even coat of the solution. Through the rest of this step, you want to keep the overlay wet. Using the rubber blade, gently begin to squeegee out the water/alcohol solution starting, again, from the center out. Too much pressure can cause the piece to move on you or mar the surface of the overlay. You will need to keep squeegeeing the overlay till the majority of the solution is removed. You will know this when you can no longer see any bubbles. If you have a bubble that you can't seem to squeegee, you can prick it with a small needle. This will allow you to gently press around it with the rubber blade to remove the solution. Allow the overlay to dry 24-48 hours, depending weather conditions, before you wash your car again. I would recommend several hours before driving at speeds over 45MPH on the sideview mirrors appliqué.

Ok navylife I know you are good at this and you have been here for a while. We tried the tail light tint today, we got the 3rd brake light great but when it came to the tail lights we just couldnt figure it out, tried using a heatgun like some tutorials we have seen, NOTHING worked. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
