I wanted to know if anyone can help me, I just bought a car and since I'm a female I don't know much about them. When I bought a 2007 scion tc the front bottom grill was missing.. I thought I would just be able to buy the piece to replace it, little did I know I couldn't because the clips were broken or cut off or whatever the previous owner did to it!! GREAT! Now they are telling me I need to buy a whole new bumper for 0. Is there anything I can do so I wouldn't have to pay that and actually just put a grill there so it doesn't look ugly?? Please anyone help me thanks..

The clips that you refer to are actually tabs that are part of the front bumper cover. They are visible in the photo. Notice the white tic marks made with a China pencil? They are from the factory denoting a quality check that the lower grille has been installed properly with all of the mounting tabs engaged. Unfortunately, if the previous owner damaged these, there will be no easy solution to effective a new mounting strategy. I would suggest that you visit a custom paint and body shop or quality tuner shop for help. Replacing the bumper cover will be very costly and will have to be painted which will add to the cost.

The OEM fog light grille kit comes with a set of metal spring clips. The fog lights add extra weight to the lower grille and the bumper cover tabs are not enough. These clips might prove enough to hold the non-fog light grille in place. The Dealership might not be able to order these clips separately so it might just be time for the OEM fog light upgrade.
