turbo on a automatic tc???

i have an 07 tc and it automatic i wanted to supercharge it or put in a turbo but idk what the best things to go with is ive heard that that automatic turbo's have alot of turbo lag and the supercharger only gives it 40 hp ???????

i think the supercharger is complete **** waste of money but outer people say that its not. turbo ull push about 230 hp at 6-7psi.

You actually get about 200WHP out of the a TRD setup at 7PSI. That is more 40WHP over the average 151-153WHP of the OEM block. A $120 9PSI pulley + $30 Serpentine Belt will get you almost another 20WHP without any other changes or reliability concerns.

if you are looking for relibiltiy then get the supercharger the turbos i think are more harder on cars but in my understanding they can push more power u want and they have a cool sound to them :P

lol dude i use to have a 1999 gst eclipse with a 1g blow off vavle and when i see girls driving with there windows down ide let the boost build up and blow if off and they would smile at me god i miss it so much

I'll try to find the thread later on to post the link here but on another forums two guys did a comparison.

They both had 2006 tC's... one auto... one manual... they both bought the same Greddy Turbo Kit from the same place. They both got a 100WHP gain with the kit and have YET to have any reliability problems. The only difference is the boost levels they are running.

Logic and history has stated the manual transmission has less rotational mass and resistance so it will generate more power. With the tC and any car with the 2AZ-FE engine this is not true simply due to the ECU. The VVTi works with the automatic transmission and generates more power. This means the manual had to run 8PSI and the auto only runs 6.5PSI.

Call bull**** if you wish but once I can get the links to the dyno sheets, be prepared to shove your heads up your ass. The gas mileage of the two are another example of the VVTi at work. Now granted the extra gear in the manual will allow it to accelerate quicker but power output is the same.

What kind of e-manage are they running. I have never heard of this before, not to say that this guy is wrong. I do know for a fact that if you drive a NA Scion tC off the lot and compare between auto's and manual's, you are gonna notice a big difference in the torque curve. The ECM (as it is called in the Scion Repair Manuals - Not ECU) does work with the electronically controlled auto transmission. However, it does so for the sake of smooth transistion between gears and fuel economy, not power. Drive the stick and the engine is almost too torquey. So what could have changed by boosting the two? Did they both reset their ECM's? Does one have a different map setup in their e-manage or none at all?

As far as I know they were both running e-Manage Ulti... I am still trying to locate the forum since my primary comp took a ****.

Pardon for not knowing it was referred as the ECM... just old school jargon I continue to carry with me.

I will post up all their data when I get it.
