if your in it for preformance you wont get as much out of an axle back as you would a cat back. ive been researching for a while now and the megan drift spec cat back has a nice tone to it. you can listen to it here YouTube - Scion tC Megan Drift Spec catback Megan Racing and buy it here |

Well, You can also add 3 inch exaust piping. Just talk to somone from any perfomance shop and they will find out what kind of muffler you will need and all that to go with it. The piping will be custom and cat converter will be removed. You will make peoples ears bleed, It also add on some HP.

i do think the TRD is an axle back. or you could go custom its cheaper and better especially if your gonna be running headers. im gonna go custom as soon as i get my megan headers and s-pipe installed. so check out your local muffler/tuner shops and see what they can do.

Cat-back for better sound better power gains. The most that you could possibly see is 15WHP tops and that is iffy. Torque is what your most interested in for that punch back in the seat feeling and starts off the line. Pay close attention to specs on torque and you will see that some exhausts net minimal torque gains. Alot of times, I/H/E systems are not power adders but power enhancers. That is they net you not very much on their own, but as supporting mods against cams, turbos, larger injectors, porting, and NO2; they increase those gains substantially.
