Default Header

I'm new to the world of Imports and I'm slowly learning as I go along, can anyone recommend a good header, I have an 06 with an Injen CAI and the TRD exhaust. I have been reading stuff about the check engine light coming on if you replace your header, can anyone tell me what thats all about? Anything is greatly appreciated!

First, only buy a true 4-2-1 header. That is tuned for street giving a broader low power band. The 4-1 headers that most sell are considered a race header. They increase the mid to upper power band at the expensive of the lower. Since you don't tool around town doing 4K launches, you will notice a difference that may not be to your liking.

The MIL (Maintenance Indicator Light) aka check engine, is caused by incorrect readings of the bank1sensor2 narrowband O2 probe when the main catalytic convertor (cat). It provides feedback to the ECM (Engine Control Module) on the status/performance of the bank1sensor1 wideband A/F probe and the main cat. This can sometimes be caused by aftermarket s-pipes that have the O2 sensor bung welded in the wrong place.

So replacing the header will not make the engine light come on? Also if I replace the header should I replace the S pipe too?

No main cat equals MIL. You will have to use the (2) sparkplug anti-fouler trick to fool the ECM.

Nope, it is just alerting the tech of DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are active in the ECM. Your emissions maybe off just a tiny bit, but you won't pass inspection becuase of the light and the codes stored in memory.
