Default greddy emanage system questions??

So i dropped the money into my car for springs, wheels, tires, strut bar, sway bar, exhaugst, intake, and track sessions so now I want to tackle the tuning part of my car. I want to make sure that I utalize all of my tc's power so that i make around the road course passing civics some more. the thing is i want to buy the greddy emanage and I don't know exactly what I need to hook the system up. anybody got any suggestions.

well, I would suggest the emanage ultimate.
What are you using it for, n/a or F/I?

That will determine what you need. There are pressure sensors, boost sensors, and of course thelug and lay harness if you dont want to hack up the stock harness.

For the $1000 that it will run with tunning, you will only see MAYBE 15-20 WHP.

Its an expensive mod, for not so great benefits on Naturally aspirated.

You don't need it unless you are boosting alot or have a modded head or high compression engine. With stock or even I/H/E, you are not going to see much, if any, decent gains. On these cars you might get 10-15 BHP (not WHP) max in a gain. Not worth it considering the costs involvd. And don't even bother with the CamCon. It realy isn't able to extract that much in power either.

Toyota already has this engine operating at top efficiency. A piggy back is not going to improve much on that. Look at my setup. The Greddy Ultimate only netted me 19WHP and I am boosted with mods. N/A or stock S/C would have netted far less. If your not going to boost then you should be seriously be thinking of a rebuild higher compression and high-flow head with larger valves and an exhaust to match. Custom stroker kit and cams would finish it off.

well i talked to a tune shop and they told me that if i was to get the emanage that on a na car i wouldn't get a whole lot of gain but i would get something. he was telling me that the stock ecu is not going to give me full throttle that it will only give me part and that the emange would be a good way to start getting things right where they need to be.

Most part true, but for the 2AZ-FE case in your tC, I would have to say not. Toyota, spends alot of R&D money on making that engine purr yet remain rock solid. For the cam profile and port flow on the heads, you are not going to get much more than that on a N/A I/H/E setup. Is 5-10BHP extra worth the $600(Ultimate) +$299 (PNP harnes) + whatever for install + whatever for tuning? Wait till you have enough supporting mods where you overcome the factory tuning. IMAO, it ain't worth it.

Just look at what Kenny Tran of Jotech Motorsports wrote in the 'Recipe For Power' article in the July 2007 edition of 'Super Street'. He doesn't recommend e-mangement till after you have supporting mods like ported polished head, camshafts, I/H/E, turbo, etc.

Several high-performance companies out there offer one-off custom work on porting/polishing head, resizing valves, and can regrind your camshaft profiles or build you forged cams.

very true. Also listen to what Navy has to say. I build motors and the ECU that the scion tC comes with is very smart and if needed it will richen up fuel if your running to lean... don't waste your money on the e-manage if you're not going S/C or Turbo... spend that money on pulley's, a nice custom intake manifold, a good set of spark plug wires (8mm), HKS ignition amp (this is good for about 5 ft. lbs of torque)... i could go on...

i have heard about it but have you seen how much it cost! and i don't think they offer it for the scion tC. for the money, try to look into the AEM F/IC. You can't beat that. The only flaw i see with that Aem is that is not plug -n- Play, but it's still not bad for the money...
See if you look into custom cams (WEB CAM INC. makes custom cams) but they're expensive but it's worth all the gains (depending on mods on your car, you COULD gain upto 30 WHP upon boost levels, 15 - 20 WHP upon S/C levels and 10 - 15 WHP upon N/A Levels)

Those cams are regrinds are not going to last you in the long run before the lobes begin to flatten. Add high performance springs and the wear is worse. I am working to provide these much needed cams at a fair price. It will be slow, but I will make it happen.
