gas requirment Q:

im picking up my 05 TC this weekend. here is what it comes with:
S/C
TRD exhaust
TRD struts
TRD springs
TRD leather seats

My Q is being that it's a S/C car do i need to use 91+octane gas or can i run regular gas on it?

you dont have to use 91 but it is recommend i belive navy is running 89. plz keep these threads in the proper place's i understand your knew.

yes you have to run 91 or better. Reguardless of what some people say they do, that is what is reccomended by the manufacturer, and w arranty claim can be denied if you use less than 91 octance, because they can claim abuse.

better safe than sorry. The difference between a tank of regular and premium is $.20 a gallon. so assuming 12 gallons, it will cost you $4 a fill up more.

if you cant afford $4, then owning and operating a supercharged car, might not be for you.

What I found out and was confirmed by Kenny Tran was that the TRD reflash is very conservative. Put that ontop of the ECM's notorious nature for playing it safe, it's propensity to save gas, and you have a very reliabe setup One that will take care of your engine. Every engine has subtle differences often caused by additional mods or sensor calibration tolerances. You should conduct your own evaluation. Read your manual. Toyota recommends the use of 10% ethanol based fuels for its cars and trucks with 10% being the max. Like Nick06tC stated, you will have to get a conversion kit, if there is one.
