I just installed a megan racing drift spec exhaust (axle back plus the midpipe) It was fine for a while and had not rattling. Now it rattles a bunch. I replaced the gasket thinking it was that cause it was shot but that didn't fix it. The guy that installed it is a friend of mine and said he tightened the bolts as much as he could which i was ther for and helped with. At first it was perfect but now it's really close to the little 6" black bar that goes across the middle of the car where the exhaust is, and that's where the sound i think is coming from. Is it ok to take off that little black bar or is that there for a reason? My friend said the other thing i could do is heat wrap it to get rid of the sound if i wanted to keep that bar there and it wouldn't hurt the exhaust. The rattling isn't up front it's right around where my back seat is. Any help would be greatly appreciated because i couldn't find any forums with help on this issue.

With Megan, you get what you pay for so I hope it is not the muffler or the resonator coming apart internally. As for the 6" black bar, it is a chasis brace and should be installed at all times. Toyota put it there for a reason. Try this tech article in our Article and Tutorials section. It should be what you need to realign your exhaust in the mid/rear if it is hitting something.

So that may fix the rattling where the exhaust is hitting that black bar? I was at another auto shot and it said it needs to be realigned. And to take off the bolts and readjust it so it does hit that bar. So should i try realigning it or try this, i don't know what i should do. My friend helped me put it on and said if i need any help with it then to let him know. The other thing is, do people use the spring bolts for the axle-back part or should i switch to regular bolts?
